Stolen

I

nteresting stuff, I am now looking at trackers, nice to also hear our police were on the ball 👍
The biggest issue for me was they trashed my workshop to get it, pulled my Hilux sideways away from the double doors, before they moved the quad, they were caught twenty miles away in Bedford withe the quad and about £5000 worth of carpentry tools of mine.

Mate they are bastards.

I knew a farmer who put his quad over a cattle barrier with his forklift, somehow, they lifted it back out by hand, must have been a few of them

You would have thought that insurance companies would insist they were fitted with trackers as part of their terms and conditions.

Then they'd have to go to the trouble of inducing the police to track and recover them, which is probably a bigger Ballachulish than just paying out other people's money.

Some years ago, we arrived onsite and the JCB attacked with a bricksaw and the £200+ battery gone, the damage to JCB was in the £1500+

<Apple Air Tag> relies on iPhone users being nearby
Yes

This leverages the Apple mesh network: essentially all iPhones are running a Blue Tooth Low Energy protocol [even when switched off] that create a combined network of proximal devices that identify where other devices are in relation to themselves.

When married to location services [GPS] on a few devices in any given area, then location of all bluetooth reachable iPhones is possible [even when switched off] .

A friend of mine had their ifor trailer stolen from cambridge a few weeks back. His boss had a tracker on it and could see on his iPhone that it was down on in the south somewhere. So he showed the police and they said it was on a large site of some sort and they would not under any circumstances go onto the site, it was up to him to retrieve it if he knew where it was and had proof it was his. So he drove down there and took a look and promptly shite his pants and drove home, said it would have been way to dangerous to try and get it as it was locked up and people everywhere.
Anyway, a day later he saw that it was on a motorway, so he called the police and they pulled the vehicle it was on and got him it back  great work. Apparently it was on a large flat bed lorry with other trailers and a front loader mini digger and some ride on lawnmowers . …..
I have a feeling that the rest of the cargo was maybe not that legitimate. I must ring him and ask if he knows anything else about it. I bet that lorry was on its way to cross the channel.
Kindest regards, Olaf

I had that twice, Wilts/Somerset. They can't just send one car apparently, they have to send a second to guard the 1st. 😂
