Anyone any experience of wild boar hunting in Romania please? I’ll be there with work next year and would love to get a boar.

Went for Moufflon and wild boar in Romania on the Romania/ Bulgarian border down by the Black Sea just after Covid restrictions lifted. Would not recommend where I went. Not very successful and would urge caution. The Boar had been hunted very hard and reverted to being exclusively nocturnal. Thermal and night vision is not allowed there. All they wanted us to do was to shoot red stags. Lots of really really big reds, but with a price tag to match.

Think they’ve had major issues with swine flu.. and a lot of operators are waiting for numbers to recover.

That’s not far from where I will be. A shame, but good to know they could be there, I can only ask.

I’m going to hunt boar in Romania on the 10th of January. Combo of walk & stalk and highseats. Keen to find out myself, although I have hunted in Romania before. Still a genuine wilderness. I’m going back in September to hopefully shoot a massive stag. Not an easy hunt at all, I can assure you.
I’ll keep you informed about how I went on with the boar hunt, if you wish…

I don’t know the exact area yet but I’m being picked up at Timisoara airport. We might be travelling in between hunting territories depending on where the pigs are showing. We’re not shooting any tuskers below 20cm.

Ah, very west - about as far away from where I will be as you can get. Hope it’s a good trip though

I eventually didn’t go because all of a sudden there was 80cm of snow and the boar couldn’t reach the feeding spots. Looking at going either this summer or in December.

I went just after lockdown and covid 5 day trip 14 lads we shot 7 boar all week 2 or 3 drive a day .don't waste your money
