Parker Hale Mount Base - Rings wanted

Vintage Redfield Frontier FR M 2 Pc Scope Mount Base for Mauser 95, 98 | eBay Should this Bases work, and is there any drilling work neccessary? I ask because i cant drill (by law only allowed for gunsmithes here). I would prefer the Redfield Way if this a simple "Swap-Job" :D. Thanks.
This could be a simple swap job but there again you are relying on the description being accurate and bearing in mind that while the majority of Parker Hale rifles were built on the more common large ring Mauser action some were not.
I wouldn't bother with an old set of Redfield bases off E-Bay which may be of unknown provenance, buy a new set of Leupold bases and rings from a reputable source, it won't work out to be all that expensive and you will have a good join between your rifle and the scope something that some people scrimp on and then come to regret.

Thanks mate. Is it important which mount type i order? Would prefer the Leupold weaver ones instead the Leupold Stds..
Thanks.

Contact Garlands shooting ground ,Edingale nr Tamworth Staffordshire .
They're on the Internet and phone here in the UK.
Sorted my P.h Safari 1200 in .243 with the correct mounts.
They did Leupold and Warne when they sorted mine out atb .

I just saw this but if you’re needing Parker Hale bits Norman Clark bought heaps when they folded and may help should you need in the future.

Hello Guys,
i have to warm up my old thread. Would appreciate if someone could give me a tip. I ordered 2 piece Leupold QR Mount Bases for Mauser FN and attached that to my PH M98. Now it looks weird to me. The front base is higher than the rear so the Vortex Scope is not aligned properly and looks crooked. I attached an picture where you see that easily.I recognized that the old Screwholes from the PH Mountbases doesnt match to the Leupolds, i only used one Screw on the front and the back mountbase (instead of 2 which leupold normaly use). Any Ideas?

Start again with a delicted and matching set of mounts & rings. Notwithstanding your front mount looks like it should be at the rear in terms of height differential, the height of scope above barrel is ridiculous, and will do nothing for so-called "cheek weld".

Ps: I'm mindful bolt lift clearance for a scope is an important consideration but there must be room to get that objective a good bit lower.

The Base and rings are especially for the Mauser FN, as previous mentioned in this Thread that was suggested. Which one should i use instead?

Your rifle is not a Mauser 98, it’s a Parker Hale ‘Midland’, different requirements. Clear as day from cocking piece and bolt stop.

Return the Leupold mounts, useless to you as they don’t fit and are twisting your scope into hell if it hasn’t already done so. They are the wrong way round as FYI!!

As an fyi, Mauser 98 PH bases are 39/40, so if you have two 40’s, it indicates the front and rear bridge are assume to be of same height. But! Don’t assume the original PH bases were correct either! Esp since there’s a 1.5mm height differential in below BHU schematic

You should consider weaver #71 and #75 bases which will take weaver rings and warne rings.

Or, call Norman Clark gunsmiths who knows all you need to know about PH rifles and has all the parts you will ever need.
