Hi Andy,

I used DSCtraining.org | Online training for your DSC1 and paid £10 for the month. There’s another one which was recommended too, but the one I used was good because if I had a soo ok are few minutes I could focus on a particular area of run a mock test. I got my pass certificate in the post yesterday so very pleased.

Fantastic, Thank you i will look them up, well done on passing.
I think there is a more “official” resource on the BDS website but I used the one at the link and found it very useful to practise every time I had a spare couple of minutes.

Thanks all, finally got my FAC back and ended up getting a Sako 85 in 270 secondhand which is very nice. Went out on a paid for stalk a couple of weeks back, saw a few Roe and some Fallow but sadly nothing presented a safe shot so it turned into a (very pleasant) walk in the Oxfordshire countryside.

I’m keen to go out some more but the drive up from Amesbury is a bit much first thing I; the morning so once I hit the requisite post count I’ll put a wanted add to try and find someone/ somewhere to go out in South Wilts/ West Hants paid.

(Obviously if someone is willing to help out a novice stalker then that would also be welcome!)

ShootingSh, speak to Bob, has some good ground for Roe not too far from here, Dorset way.
There is also lots of other places but it is only really good value if you have ground local to you, which they do, which I visit when I want one for my freezer.

Thanks EMcC, is “ShootingSh” Bob’s username on here? Dorset not far; I’d be going down from Amesbury area so pretty good transport links to get about.

Hello all,

Came across the site whilst searching for some info for a variation to my FAC and enjoyed the posts i read so thought i would join.

I grew up on a small farm so started out on Shotguns and Air rifles. Got my FAC over covid to shoot vermin with .17HMR and also have .223 Remington.

Accompanied a friend Deer Stalking a few times and decided that it is something i would like to do and have just submitted a variation so i can buy a new (secondhand) rifle i have just reserved in .30-06.

I hope to get some more opportunities local to me and maybe beyond. Booked onto my DSC1 in the spring.

Jim
