Know making my own leatherwork

My own personal preference would be for same colour thread, but that’s just me👍
I have some , i think with the stitch line looping back it becomes a feature like this one dark brown with red stiches . Of course everyone thinks different on these things and that is the basis of a custom knife , you get what you want - just order it that way !

That dark brown sheath looks very smart 👍

Made quite a few sheaths and other leather items over the years as a hobby knife maker, very therapeutic, We have a good leather shop quite local to me which has everything you could need for leatherwork

Cant say therapeutic with a dozen on the bench at present but its something i have been doing just for for friends and myself a while . Making just one at a time has never been fiscally sensible with my time nor cash flow ( as i buying English top grade full backs 3.5-4mm )

Yeh I know what you're saying, That's the difference between hobby and commercial though I suppose, Ive made everything from game carriers to pruning sheer sheaths and belts.

i do also like working on different stuff as one offs , always have ! Just that the economics of time per item , buying power just isn't there. It's great when i have a straight up one off custom one off knife commissioned , issue is there are not many of those folks about and to be fair to make one real special knife " never to be another type i am talking " time wise I end up or a poor hourly rate " still love doing them ( just wouldn't want to rely on those jobs coming in on any frequency ) . Must have spent 8 hours just getting hold of the desired steel stock on the last one !

LePrevo Great shop and very helpful, Closed its doors to the public during the height of Covid but back open to the public now.
And it seems they supply to all sorts

"The range of colours and wipe clean surface also make split a popular choice for fetish wear."

Quite literally, where there's muck there's brass.
The most easy people to do good straight honest business with , no need to fanny around and upfront about what they wanted . I don't make those remarks as a joke Wish i got that with the folks wanting fancy driveway gates and staircases etc.

Their website has been running for over 20 years so the 'insecure' message was because it still had an http: address.

The site is https: now so secure and no issue there.

There's zero cookies on the site and it doesn't handle online payments so not sure what data there was to secure anyway?
