The future of a deer stalking vehicle

Just starting to be brought into UK. A motorway and ULEX compliant Gator with steering wheel on the correct side, 52mpg, a 2m long load bed that’s not too high and all for well under £20k including the VAT.

Now I wouldn’t want to drive the length of the UK in one, but no reason why you could not. But for bouncing around country roads, farm tracks, forestry tracks across fields and if you let tyres down probably across pretty soft stuff it could be hard to beat. You can easily carry a few deer or bags of feed etc. And it’s built by a Toyota subsidiary.

No its not a Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger etc, but its half the price and minimal running costs.

Add a good strong roof rack, think Argocat type roll over bars, a winch on the front and pulleys so can run the cable over the cab to the back (as you can do with an argo), any deer easily lifted in and winch there for recovery if needed.

If you wanted serious offroad ability, quad tracks as fitted to gators and quads or cheaper wider wheels and tyres. But with decent off road type tyre and lower pressures with 4 wheel it should cover most things. Again think lightweight such as the Renault 4 or 2CV.

As smart as it looks and seems to preform the £20k you will spend on it will buy you a really good pickup, its a shame though as I quite actually like it and see it as a ideal little vehicle for a young underkeeper/ beat keeper just chuck 20x bags of food in the back and away they go type thing

Had my Japanese import suzuky carry 4x4 with difflock for getting on 8 years now. Amazing little thing.

The posh new one does look good though with the bigger cab. Didn't bother lifting mine as it ruins the CV joints. I just need a light footprint, not clearance.

Nice!
Is that a 1.3L ?
Some of them were 660cc weren’t they?

Not what the video quoted. The one in the video had a price of just under £20k inclusive of VAT.

They're all used which is why they're £20k+vat or there abouts for those uplifted models. The one pictured is for sale under £20k all in as it's an ex UK demo truck.

Be fine for 99% of stalking local but i seriously do not fancy a long 8 hour plus drive in one ! 99% of most off road vehicles get 99% on the road use ! I suspect a long wheel base Van with a quad hidden away into the back and a dog cage ? Might be better than my Pickup considering the real off roading can in the main part of recovery is beyond viable on / off road vehicle use.
Pickup towing a Quad is cool but who really wants to travel at towing speed and lash that amount of cash ( before we talk Argo repairs and availability).
I might just size down the 4x4 though and there is a step change in what the Japs are up to and the fuel of the future uncertainty !

we used an old dump truck years ago, on this shoot we had with the big bucket removes you started it with a handle it would go anywhere pulled many a landrover out of the **** and it would run on anything best £50 we ever spent bs

For dear’s sake - just buy a Jimny or if you want to be really fancy also buy a grinder and welding kit.
Others paint jobs are available…

Just been looking at the old / new one as the emissions pushed it into becoming a mini van . They really are something off road the Land rovers could not get close to them on the tougher RTV trials and i say this as someone who tried to .
