Zeiss Diavari still king of low light?

Had Z6i and while obviously not rubbish, traded it in for a Zeiss HT.

To my eyes the Zeiss wins considerably in low light.

Used a mates T96 and not a lot if anything separated it to the HT for me.
Interesting how different scopes suit different eyes, I’ve a mate swears by the ZEISS but certainly not for me

It’s like boots on feet different manufacturers use different lasts and what might be the dogs dangles for you might be no good for your opp, scope lenses and coating are the same one man’s meat is another man’s poison.
nothing better than getting out and having a good look through as many as you can that fit your magnification want and pockets match.

Has anyone reviewed the Leica PRS at last light?
I brought one from @gaza916 and he is more qualified looking at the scopes he's owned to comment.

But it is very good, my S&B polar I had is definitely brighter, but I prefer the image colour of the Leica. It last past legal shooting light and works very well with a pard nv007 for foxing

My only issue is the no.4 style reticle is very thin at low mag, but the illumination makes up for this and it's almost like a red dot

I really rate the Swarovski 8x50, they’re a smaller and lighter alternative to the popular S&B 8x56.
Very much so.

The S&B 8x56 dwarfs the Swarovski PF 8x56 let alone the PF 8x50.

The Swarovski ‘PF’ fixed power & complimentary ‘PV’ variable series were succeeded by the current ’Z’ series. The PF’s are superb light & relatively compact scopes.

Thank you. How do you find the reticle at 30x? Does it cover much of the target at full mag?

No, it's 0.5mm coverage at all mag ranges at 100m. on deer and vermin it's not a issue and I'm sure if I searched for a different target it would make load development and sighting in easier

I’m not a believer in fixed last light. Most fixed are 7-8x in 50-56mm. Personally I find 4x with 56mm produces the best low light image
That’s interesting and helpful - I have the S&B 8x56 and I really like it, but definitely not getting the last light performance that people on this thread are eluding to. @Andy RV my pal had just bought the swaro 8x50 I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Has anyone reviewed the Leica PRS at last light?
I have indeed. Sat it next to a Z8i 2.3-18x56 and there was neglible difference. I'd say the Z8i was marginally brighter but definition was equal. The lowest light level that you can shoot at is the same for both scopes.

I can see the point in getting light transmission and good clarity 30mm, even 20 min before last light, but fighting for and spending money on the last literally couple of minutes before close of legal shooting time and total darkness seems like a bit of a waste to me.

I’ve shot deer 5 minutes before total darkness fell with an old Zeiss 4-32, and also with Zeiss Diavari V T* 56mm lens, and to be fair, there was virtually nothing in it. In fact the 4x32 outperforms the 3-12x56 if mag is set much above 4 or 5
