Taking shotguns to America

I hope someone can help me, I am looking at travelling to texas and want to take my shotgun, what's the procedure, paper work etc.

Not had much looking on the net.

If someone could help and point me in the right direction, I would be great full

Contact BATF in the US, get a form6a completed.
Check Airline and airport details over here and there, take a robust airline case.
Print everything off.
Get ready for crap at our end.
Pay for an extra case.

Its been 25 years since I flew into Houston and onto San Antonio for the world FITASC. Shotgun in a hard case, 250 slab of 36g Winchester ZZ's in the suit case and my SGC and European firearms cert.

It was a bit easier back then

Took a pre 1898 SBS to San Francisco in 2014 no problems as it pre dated the definition of a firearm. Download the form 6 from the BATF website is your go to.
