hw 60 j and hw 66 (hornet)

Not a Hornet or .222 but I've had an HW60J in .22LR for several years, they are very nicely made, very accurate and the trigger is sublime. I suggest you contact a stockist rather than Hull Cartridge direct. I bought mine from Malmo Guns in Lancashire, great shop. I'm not in any way affiliated with them, merely a happy client.

Good evening PJ.
The HW60 or 66 is an excellent choice, they are made to a very high standard and shoot very well indeed. I had one in HMR and have shot the 22lr, hornet and 222 belonging to friends all of which print excellent groups, the two stage triggers are outstanding and I consider them to be the finest triggers fitted to any production rifle.
With regard to Hull Cartridge, I spoke with them at last years shooting show and enquired as to why they were not promoting the rimfire and small centrefire HWs, the answer they gave was that there was more demand for air guns and delivery time for live fire rifles was extensive.
My reply to the last statement was that as the main importer perhaps a little more effort would increase their turnover and that of the manufacturer as well as serve the shooting public who would like to stay with a brand the know and trust as they progress from airguns to live fire shooting.
 
Well this is a blast from the past. And I can now confirm having bought the 60j in 22 hornet it is everything I thought it would be. Silly accurate with factory ammo and even better with roll your own. If I could I would have one in 22 or and .222 and if only they made bigger full bore rifles
 
Have an HW60 in 22lr. Accurate out of the box, trigger, fit, finish and blueing are all top notch. Great wee rifle that won't disappoint.
 
Dauntsey guns in Wiltshire are pretty clued up on these rifles, it’s worth giving them a call for a honest opinion and supply

Can't fault my HW60J in .22lr. Incredibly accurate, reliable so far and great trigger. The only observation for mine is ejection is a little weak.
 
Back in October, I posted that Chris Horner from Hull CC had taken the trouble to get in touch with me to resolve my query regarding obtaining another Weihrauch to go with my HW60J 22Hornet. I have no doubt that Chris did his best but sadly as seems to always be the case with Hull CC, in the end, I heard nothing more! So shelving the idea of getting a Weihrauch 17Hornet I went for a CZ527 in that calibre. It doesn't have the finesse of the Weihrauch but I honestly couldn't be more pleased with it.
What I just don't get, and no doubt there may be a very good reason behind it, is that why a very large company like HullCC who must handle a very large number of Weirauch air rifles can't get organised with the firearm side of that company.
You seldom if ever hear complaints about Weirauch rifles, only the importers. It's all a bit of a mystery! By now I should have has another Weirhrauch in the cabinet, instead, I have a CZ just one lost sale I know, but I have little doubt many others have and will be lost in the future. As I said before, I just wonder why. If Weihrauch doesn't want to supply this country, fair enough but it would be nice to know.
 
The HW 60/66 are quality rifles and have without doubt the best trigger of any factory rifle. I have owned or used them in 17, 22, hornet and 222 and all were very accurate.

I spoke to the Hull CC rep on their stand at last years Shooting Show about the difficulties in obtaining Weihrauch powder burners and it basically comes down to the fact that they don't make many of them, and they have no plans to increase production.
Air weapons are by far what they sell most of and are also probably what they make the most profit from.

Having had 3 calibres of Weihrauch - they were cracking well built rifles, bolt like silk and they never let me down and as you’d expect very very accurate, I loved the stock and it’s cut, I found the straight stock slightly different but once I’d got used to it they were all reliable faultless rifles

Only reason I sold them was I got drawn into the dark side and gradually swapped them for Blasers over a couple of years
 
Going to look at a weihrauch 17 Hornet next week. I'm really hoping I like it as I love a nice trigger & the price is right. BUT all this talk about them being heavy is concerning.... How heavy, compared say to a T3x varmint? Thanks
 
Just be mindful of the fact that the 22 hornet in the regular 1-16 twist is very likely going to become obsolete if lead goes. Big 22 hornet fan and owner but i fear the writing is on the wall

My Weihrauch HW 60 J 22 Hornet weighs 4.25 kg all up complete with a Nikon Monarch 5 3-15x42 scope in steel Burris Signature Zee rings.
When I bought this rifle I opted for the double set trigger and it is incredible.

Sorry but I have no idea what a Tx3 varmint rifle weighs.
 
My scope weighs 525 grams according to the instruction booklet and the rings are around 150 grams.
Subtract those and the bare rifle would be just below 3.6 kg.
