TikkaAnyone have any first hand experience with both rifles?
-Tikka Tac A1
-Ruger Precision Rifle
I am looking for a new rifle in 6.5CM and have narrowed it down to these two!
Any advice, tips pros and cons most appreciated!
I had forgotten about that to be honest. I was told to do it when I bought the rifle, and did so. I have no issues 3 years laterIf you buy the Tikka -strip it and put corrosion protection on the stock screws (in particulate the two lower clamp ones and the three that link the front and rear sections of the chassis via the picatinny rail ) as they do suffer from it
That’s about the only issue with the Tac A1

Quite the opposite for the Ruger,,,
How many rounds did you get out of your Tac and what chambering?Tika. Ive owned my tiktac for 5 years, its on its second barrel
a friend bought the RPR and it was certainly accurate, but as others have said a bit plasticy.
@Dr. Strangelove point about resale value is a good one.
If I was doing it again I would buy a used tiktac chassis and find a donor action, get James at jagersport to put a barrel on it and you'd have all the benefits of a new rifle for around half the price.
6.5cm groups opened up considerably at a estimated 2400 (I wasn't the first owner) I didn't keep speed records, but I did chronograph it towards the end I was only getting 2450 ish from the 20' tube. How many rounds did you get out of your Tac and what chambering?
I heard of one over 3000 rounds that was still winning competitions!
I have the ruger precision in 6.5mm creedmoor, use it for long range target shooting. Had no issues with poor build quality, shoots really well, very accurate with minimal recoil. Depends what you want to do with it I suppose. Ruger is too heavy to stalk with.Anyone have any first hand experience with both rifles?
