Food safe wipes

Recommendations please re packs of wipes to clean knife etc in the field.

When I google search there is a bewildering choice. I have been using alcohol based food probe wipes.

Over to the wiser more experienced heads of SD .

They are individually wrapped which, whilst not exactly eco-friendly, does mean that you avoid the situation of opening the pack of wipes and finding they've dried out.

I use A LOT of disposable wipes for work.
I find Clinell wipes to be good for cleaning but a bit too “soapy” so I prefer to use Medi9

I started using Detol wipes during foot and mouth and carried two knives , just in case . I dont now bother carrying the bag of wipes i feel i could just use a sterilising wipe from my first aid kit , if required on finding something on the gralloch . I still carry two knives though.
After having need of a first aid kit one day and it was way back in the truck , I always carry it with me now in the field !

No. If you were going to just need a handful for stalking I’d suggest taking a few out and wrapping in clingfilm or in a plastic zip bag.
They keep moist ok in the tub for a long time.

I have a box of these, . just stick a handful in my pocket for when out, but I also have a tub containing a roll of wipes.
These are good too..

I like these, but it's a little disconcerting when you go to remove the next wipe and it's frozen.
