Boots ,,, of the Cowboy persuasion

Ocht to be honest when they are on they just look like a Chelsea/ posh Dealer type boot as the have a Roper style heel
No one would really recognise them as Western boots unless they saw the leg ( which is ornate as feck ) 😂

Hard to find the right pair isnt it.

Some are far too ornate which can sometimes sneak onto the toe cap.

Another problem in the UK is finding them in person so you dont have to order a few pairs online to find the right fit.

Go one then, who here wears proper man’s boots ??? 😂

I just got a new pair of Ariat Pay Windows , but surely I’m not the only sad **** on here that rocks Wrangler jeans and decent Western boots hahahahhaah ?????
I wear HH boots and Riggs jeans daily or whatever jeans are clean, Ariat at work composite toe required. I am probably the exception as living and working in Wyoming USA it is almost the uniform.

Bought a pair for a Mess meal that had a western theme. Surprisingly comfortable, but not enough for me to wear daily.
I bought them from a local charity shop as I was going to wear once and pass them on. But they are still in the wardrobe. I might find reason to wear them again.

There are loads of threads full of miserable folk on the site.
We have noticed that too, any way for when going down to the local rubbidy dub wearing a pair of these may get some interest lol.

AND when ya feeling HOT, the girls will be like pigs grovelling at your feet ha ha.
Seriously I reckon one would have to be like Mick Jagger and co to wear them.

boots on fire.webp

That's actually a good brand of boots. Very well known here for their comfort and geared towards actual riding.

It's been quite a few years since I've worn any, since I haven't owned horses in probably 20years.

For those heckling about them, they do server a purpose when riding western saddle. The smooth soles and pronounced/raise heel help with keeping the feet in the stirrups, and sliding them out of the stirrups in a hurry, without the risk of getting hung up. I've see a few guys try to bail on a horse that either got spooked, or sank unexpectedly to their bellies in water soaked DG (disintegrated granite) trails. It wasn't pretty watching them get drug (or worse) rolled over on, by their mount.

As to the decorative stitching on the boot shaft....yuck. I prefer "roper" style boots myself (plain, rounder toe and a lower heel than your standard "sh*t kickers").

For a long lasting boot, that handles rougher conditions (say mucking out stalls, or roping calves) a bull hide boot is a sure bet. They're tougher than most leather boots, so take a bit longer to break in. But once broken in, they'll give you many years of use if cleaned, oiled regularly. I think I still have a pair of these somewhere in the storage, along with my saddle and remaining tack (that didn't go with the horses, when they were let go).

Oh, and for those with plantar fasciitis, you might be surprised at how much relief you'd find in wearing cowboy boots. The angle (from the heel) and arch of this type of boot really helps alleviate the pain associated with plantar fasciitis.

Yup
The boots I have a Roper style.
Wore them yesterday for the full day and they are seriously comfy on my feet.
I can’t wear trainers etc anymore and only wear boots , mainly Timberland premiums but the Ariats will be getting worn to death if comfiest has anything to do with it .
