Watching the Scotland France game, Obviously gutted.

Whilst I can understand a desire for hundred percent certainty to be in the mind of the referee, to the layperson it certainly looked grounded. One of the later TMO shots clearly shows both French players feet, which previously had held it up, clear of obstruction and then the ball subsequently rolling onto the ground Which was visible via a gap under another French player’s elbow.

No matter yo allegiances, I personally feel TMO took the steam out of the win/loose reaction/ finale of the game.

Twenty minutes In the second half of playing nonsense rugby instead of taking the game to the opposition..Not sure it's in FR psyche but he is playing to the Townsend plan unfortunately.
 
Only it was 100% down. It certainly looked down but no one could see the ground at the same time that they could see the bottom of the ball. To change the on field referee's decision they had to be 100% and not 95% certain. Very unlucky though.
 
definitely a try as shown by the still. poor discipline cost scotland again allowed france back into game. sin bin on HT and the pen against our own scrum was a game changer.
 
If the ref had given it they would have stuck with it. No one could say it was 100% down with pressure on it. There were too many bodies in the way to confirm that.
 
The TMO even said the ball was on the ground and then talked himself out of it.Strange moment and the ref himself was in a great place to see the ball down but is indicative of reffing these days.
 
I was at the game, sat in the North stand watching Scotland batter the try line at our end in the dying seconds of the match. Forward after forward smashing into the French…….and we totally ignored the fact that we had a significant overlap of backs off to the right of the ruck. A bit like we did in Wales last week when Duhan WAS held up over the line at the final whistle.
To pass it out to the backs would have been radical……oh, hang on, that’s the scenario the French used when Fickou scored their first try……
I was listening to the TMO on the ref mike and he clearly said it was on the leg before it touched the ground, then he talked himself and the ref out of giving the try. As others have said, we shouldn’t be relying on last gasp ‘maybe’ tries we should have taken the game to a pretty ropey French team and won it convincingly. Not scoring a point when they were down to 14 men was criminal.
I’m not sure what the answer is, but I suspect it doesn’t involve Townsend as a head coach. We need someone who’ll give us a bit of steel and not be content with our plucky losers tag, year in year out. We seem to lose most of these matches in our head, as a team and a crowd of supporters. In the same situation you’d be sure Ireland would score as opposed to praying Scotland might score. Then again the Irishman with the ball would be propelled over the line by two of his mates, not solo forwards in a dark blue jersey giving their best shot on their own.
Anyone want a ticket for the England game……..35 years of this continual, frustrating, **** at Murrayfield is taking its toll!!

That was MOST DEFINITELY a try! TMO confirmed it 6times during the play back and then said but I can’t be a 100% WTF???
