Ok, the disclaimer. I didn't bore sight the arken Zulus first.
Had I, I would of noticed the misalignment of the unit on its mount!
Yes folks the unit does not locate in the mount accurately because it bottoms out before the tapered sides align it.
Consequently my reticle is nowhere near centered.
I can not mill the unit so I'm going to have to shim the mount so it aligns strait then rezero. FFS.
Zeroing took ten rounds.
Moving the reticle seemed to be twice as much as needed then bizarrely not!!
I'll go out tonight as is but tomorrow or Sunday alignment work starts and rezero...starting with bore sighting.

Apart from that I'm very impressed with the actual unit.

10 rounds?
Fire a shot at a dot/mark in the center of the paper, shot no.1
Mark where it hits, put the cross hairs on dot in center of paper again and freeze with a quick press of the button closest to your face, then move the cross hairs to the mark you made where shot no1 landed.
VERY IMPORTANT!! long press the left hand button to save.
Fire shot no.2 at center dot, fine adjust if necessary and you are done.
 
Me and a mate were talking about digital scope zeroing systems.
The one shot idea is great if you can remember which cross stays on target and which is moved to the actual impact.
Instead of co-ordinates of + and -, X and Y, would it not be a better idea to label them as left and right , up and down like on a normal scope?
Just a thought.

The Zulus doesnt have a separate cross, once its frozen the whole reticle moves, its easier to do than Pulsars that have the 2 crosses as you say.

I suspect the Picatiiny rail might be an issue. Mine fits perfectly on two Pic rails (Brittania and Tikka), but doesn't fit the Hawke rail very well.
 
Oh dear! So Arken spend a fortune building/buying an otherwise great bit of kit but it seems many purchasers have a problem mounting/zeroing it. Can someone please explain why this and indeed others such as Pards have this issue - why are they not just like mounting a telescopic sight? Why oh why does something costing north of £500 depend on a strip of coca cola tin?
I say this with some experience as a shimmed Pard 008P owner!
