Cheek Riser

I've been faffing about with my cheek weld for a few weeks now. I got a Bear riser kit, that was OK but I couldn't remove my bolt.

I then removed my CTR built in riser, wedged foam underneath, then screwed it back down. This looked and felt much better, but I again couldn't remove my bolt.

I just received one of those Kydex jobbies from eBay. Yes, I've had to drill my factory stock. Worth it though. Just need some black coach bolts

A good cheek raiser, adjusted to suit the individual, makes the world of difference.

Looks better than my foam/vet wrap effort. I may have to drill my Tikka stock.... or find a wooden one and get an adjustable riser done by Nobby from Airgun Forum fame.

Once my black coach bolts arrive, it'll look pretty good.

My end goal is this though. PSE Evolution. Waiting on them making Tikka fitment

I wouldn't mind an MDT XRS chassis, but I need to get out of the village a bit more to look at one before I buy... I may leave the village and go to the shooting show at the NEC in the spring, maybe make it a family outing and take big brother & nephews...

With decent hook and loop tape you can stick those kydex cheek risers on without drilling the stock and they're easy to set up and adjust too.

I did this but went further and just bought an A4 sheet of kydex, heated it in the oven, draped over the stock then cut it to shape and taped on. Cost about £10 and hasn't budged from the day I stuck it on.

That's exactly how I did mine, the Kydex and very easy to shape (a hot air gun works well), ive ended up cutting a slight inlet to allow the bolt to be extracted which has no effect on the cheek position or comfort

Was in the market for a new rifle recently and found it bonkers that the rifles I was considering buying (Sako S20 & Sauer Panamera) both you had to make the factory cheek risers flat to remove the bolt.

The cheek riser was the main reason I looked at them, but stuck with what I knew and just stuck an eBay kydex velcroed one on- old riser has never budged and bolt comes out easily.

I had a KRG Bravo that you had to drop it down to remove the bolt but then you lost the setting it was on, and with a high mag scope the eye box was quite fussy so it was a pain. Luckily the Bravo, like some MDT cheek risers is just on two steel rods that slide up and down so I made a steel sleeve to the correct height and slipped it over one of the rods. It then meant it was really quick and easy to lift the riser out and drop it back in the same place every time.

I much prefer a lace on leather type cheek raiser. Doesn’t require any drilling or alterations to the stock.

Certainly is. Might have to swap change out the candy pink from the current print job though

I got a begara in October with an adjustable cheek piece as factory offering. Honestly don’t know how I coped with standard stocks before. To just shoulder your rifle and plonk your head on the stock and everything line up perfect instantly every time seems a no brainer but something so many compromise on.
Yours looks a tidy job
