One shot zero my arse!

That mount option looks good

Bruce
I would have thought it’s pretty obvious why I don’t have one, just going on what reports that come back, I’m fed up and so are many others of buying gear that don’t come up to the mark

It’s alright banging on about the quality of the picture and reticule alignment etc etc, that looks a cracking video put up earlier and the rifle shoots straight brilliant - very nice, but it’s not about that one unit

but to be honest mate if you can’t fix the unit soundly onto a rifle without having to faff about it ain’t worth the money

If there is a problem with mounting or anything else - hands up and get it fixed, all that is needed is an all round well made reliable unit that works all the time with no faffing about, if that’s not possible and it’s nearly there on all points work in progress.
If a company expects people to throw money at a unit, it has to work 100%

You wouldn’t go into tescos to buy 6 sausages only to find there’s only five when you get home and open the box

The unit could well be the best in the market, but it ain’t no good if you can’t use it
I've only heard of one issue with mounting (this thread) and heard of many more that all has worked perfectly. I've had two mounts and they have both been perfectly fine, no alignment issues and zeroing has been far easier and quicker than any other scope.

Just to add, I've read more threads on here about issues with Zeiss Duralyt scopes running out of adjustment and not being able to be zeroed without adjustable mounts than with the Zulus.

There have been probably 10 times more threads about issues with Optilock mounts, either coming loose, losing zero or being massively out of line when setting up.

Both of these are still deemed great bits of kit with massive followings and huge support, yet a brand new device brought to market with hundreds sold in a very short time frame and a small handful of issues that could be solved by QC rather than an inherent flaw gets knocked by a couple of people🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Thinking of putting one of these on my tikka t1x 22lr.
It has a 25moa rail so il probably need the 0 moa mount but do I need the long or short one ?

I knew it would work, fixing a potential alignment issue isnt rocket science, as it happens mine didn’t need any adjustment on the aftermarket mounts i already had but for some its like the biggest drama ever!
I bought one, used it alot and i’m mightily impressed so bought another and will continue to use them while the folk that havent even looked through one prattle on about how awful the thought of possibly having to slip a slither of metal somwhere is 🤣

Just spotted your videos, very enjoyable and excellent shooting!

Since we're already OT, yes the two piece Optilock are notorious for coming loose to the point people have TIG welded the base and ring together. The design, as many in Sako lineup, benefits mainly manufacture and retail (not having to keep as much cash tied up in stock since design is modular).

But on the other hand, I've never heard Optilock being out of line. Sounds like user error, not understanding how Sako rail is supposed to work or something (they should have got rid of the Sako rail decades ago, it's nothing but trouble).

I have a really difficult situation.
I bought my Zulus from Blackwood Outdoors
and it arrived the day after.
I fitted the supplied 0 moa mount to the unit and fitted the setup to my Sako S20 on top of a Contessa picattiny rail.
I went out to zero and followed the instructions.
It zeroed in three shots and now my Rifle hits what I aim at.
My question is, am I doing something wrong,do I need to seek help ?
Or, is this just a very good little unit which does what it says on the tin at a very reasonable price ?

Out of interest, did you need the standard or rear extended rail?
Cheers

Congratulations sir.
Is your LR & BC modes working correctly?
Thanks, Ken.

Hi Mike
It was the 0 moa mount which was supplied with the unit from Blackwood Outdoors.
I didn't order anything other than the standard.
Blackwood outdoors will keep you right.
Cheers Alan

Just thinking about eye relief.

Well done, still not one shot though 😘.
Yes, they are excellent units.
Try jumping up and down on it in mud.
I did at the weekend and it was only 4" off. Pretty good I say. 👍IMG_20240303_123917.webp

Hi Mike standard length Contessa rail does the job.
I've had no problems with the eye relief or recoil and I'm using it on .308

Cheers Alan
Thanks for that Alan, I've a friend with a Sako 75 .243 looking for day/night vision & the Zulus should suit him perfectly 👍
