That is interesting. My priority is to stop the deer eating my tree saplings (they have to be planted small to take and grow well). As landowner and for pest control purposes I believe I can shoot at night. A near round the clock watch would be pretty useful!

Shooting out of season also needs study . It is best to not shoot out of season if you have a population and it isn't just a free for all.
Besides you could very well make things worse damage wise . Hitting all deer really hard makes deer really spooky and its best not done until you really get onto them in season during daylight . They soon enough wise up , its a massive problem if you have a big population to get into and your starting too soon on night culling and out of season .
To deal with a big cull you dont want to to throw the lot at them . Its really hard to shoot deer that hide away in forestry and become wise . You need really to be capable of dropping all the group of wandering singles ( ie no witnesses animals ) .
Being serious in a few weeks you can turn the deer in an area wise , when you really need them ? Well , a bit dumb for as long as possible !

That's got nothing to do with it. It is because that is how "night" is defined in law.

You can legally follow uo wounded deer 24hrs a day.

Paying a stalker on your Private land ? You do of course realise you could get a syndicate of very experienced stalkers on to remove the vast majority at no cost or even a possible surplus .
Its just about getting the right guys

Unfortunately recreational stalkers are no good at getting numbers down!
