driven scopes

I have a really nice Leupold VX-R 1.25-4x20 scope if anyone is looking for one. It has a 30mm tube and fire-dot circle reticle. I took it to the range once but I’m not getting along with 30mm scopes.
I have the very same scope for driven boar though I did put a Zeiss conquest V4 on my 30-06 this season . I think the Vx-R is a far better scope for my style of shooting though and will probably go back to it this season ?

Probably fed up with advice by now but I will throw in my 2 pennies worth.
I have a Zeiss victory 1.1-6 on my 9.3x62 for boar. This has a simple red dot in the centre. The reason for 1.1 is that you can, in theory, shoot with both eyes open and just follow the red dot onto the boar. I almost always use this set at 1.1 mag as driven boar in forest are close and no need for magnification. I could be persuaded to go for a simple red dot sight but occasionally I stalk both boar and Roe, then I like to have the 6x.
If you can get used to shooting with both eyes open ( I am struggling to do this) then it gives much better field of vision and you can keep track on all that is happening. I believe 1.1 in European scope is same as 1 in US ones - technical ways of measuring. I doubt a 2x or more will allow both eyes open.

When I owned the forest property I had a shooting range in my back garden. I practised with the .22 freehand and it was quite easy to train shooting with both eyes open. 4x ,no problem with both eyes open and even used 6x. I think shooting running targets with both eyes open is a must.
I've normally have my scope set on 2x but that just me.
