New Dark Engine BLADE IR Illuminator

Hi All,

As a public service announcement. We are on the last knockings of what we can build with the parts we have on hand. Once these are gone then it will be a few weeks before re-supply from our CNC machinists to produce another run of pills for us.

Cheers

Hi All,

The standard Dark Engine BLADE is now on back order. Delivery should be 10 working days. Our CNC supplier are a bit behind due to the half term holidays, etc. but are catching up.

If you need one, I would suggest back-ordering to assure you get it first.

We still have stock of the COVERT version ready for next day delivery.

Cheers

I must've got the last one, ordered on Thursday night and delivered this morning, thanks for the quick turnaround Clive

Hi Clive,

What's your ETA on getting more of these out? Your site's been saying "available in 10 days" for a good while now.

Also does anybody know a good compact mount that fits this to the new Alpex 4k with the big LRF on top?

Ta!

I'm using the Hikmicro mount for my Blade and it works well.

Did you change it to the tight beam configuration by moving the o-ring spacer to be behind the pill?

Hi yes I did Clive .
I followed the instructions you gave me and although good the dragonfly was better .
Also tested along side with the Ian sirrel ir the blade was better with the archer.

In the review video I shared earlier, the gentleman mentioned being able to get good illumination of a treeline and eye shine at 700m and ID of a fox at 500m with his Alpex / BLADE combo.

Not quite 500yards, but I did shoot a fox at 344yards last night using a DS35-70 and Blade combo. Could see the fox as plain as day so well pleased with the Blade.

How are these on a starlight longbow and are they any better performance wise than the PBiR L
Thanks
It will work fine on that. Just ask for it to be set up for an add-on / tight beam in the comments section of your order.

In terms of performance, I can light up a tree line at 1000 yards with a digital add on, so for a tubed system it should have more than enough power.

The DF is an interesting one.

It's a single very high power edge emitter that is then circularised with optics (which is quite a dirty beam). But tubed devices handle that much better than digital.

The other interesting note is that they were sold with a stack of ND filters in the end as a ham fisted circumvention of safety legislation at the time...then with instructions for the user to remove them...so they may as well have not bothered as them being removable, even without telling customers to do that also made it illegal for sale and incorrectly classified.

I've never been able to test one for power, because I only see broken ones for pill swaps to our system, but I would be very cautious in use.

This is one example of the madness:
The emitter on this one was at a rather jaunty angle in the pill, with the pill then cross threaded into the body to compensate. I don't know which issue came first cross threading or ****ed PCB.

I've replied to your email of yesterday.

For others waiting...

We should have the aluminium pillars from our CNC machinists this week...it's been like pulling teeth since they got back from a half term break.

The next week we will be assembling them with MCPCB, emitters and drivers, to then final assemble into finished IRs.

All the back orders will be treated as a priority.

Cheers
