Genuine UK Army Cadet smock, circa 1970's in excellent condition. Is a great spring/summer stalking coat for those cooler days or perched in a high seat. Windproof. Would be fairly water repellant if re-proofed.

Olive Canvas with hood, and with two large bellows pockets and a large chest pouch, ideal for binos and thermal. Crutch strap, and all zips and draw strings original, in place and working. Draw string storm cuffs. One very small hole on back of right shoulder that was darned 20 years ago and is still fine (see photo).

Classed as Size 4, so Large/Extra Large. I am 6'3" and this is roomy, with space for several good layers underneath. Measurements are : arm pit to arm pit 25" (so a 50" chest). Pit to cuff 21". Neck to cuff 31". Shoulder to hem 31". Chest pocket is 12" across.

£60 posted.

Thank you.

This is just not being used enough, and deserves to be worn!

Years ago I did see a home made cotton canvas type windproof stalking jacket. I remarked at the time that it reminded me of the old cadet smock which is what the owner was looking for at the time when he was trying to get one.
It was a bit rough but did the job!

It has seen occasional use over the last 30 years and looks like it plans to keep going strong for the foreseeable future - it was certainly made to last! No lining, no membranes no poppers or clips, so nothing to go wrong. Basically a heavy duty tent canvas.

I recall having to remove the cords in about '79.
If memory serves, getting those smocks on and off can be challenging, hence a Christmas list including a DPM Combat Jacket.
Nice garment for someone still skinny!
