Simple spotter?

I only ever plug in the auxilliary power pack to my Quantum. Are these things upgraded through the recording port?

Do you not just turn the thermal on when you go stalking, and turn it off when your finished??
I don't touch anything on mine when I'm out (except the range finder, which is on the side, away from the other buttons) battery lasts all day

Very wise sir!
I however (when I actually remember) and in full anticipation of sending the brilliant video of my perfectly aimed shot to my pals cannot resist the temptation to push the Record button which for some reason is never in the same place twice, thus I end up playing the Setup Twostep - repeatedly, just as the bushy-tailed one is standing broadside on - sniggering.
Do you know how many submenus there are on a Pulsar 35xq Thermal lads?
