Light rust removal on sling swivels

Afternoon all (from holiday in sunny Florida),

BLUF:

What’s the best way to remove a little bit of light rust from some sling swivels and the stud without wreaking the blueing?

I am well experienced in removing and treating rust on my 23 year Audi TT’s undercarriage - but that involves a drill wire brush/Jenolite and Hammerite, far too invasive for this.

I’ve smeared both with CLP whilst away, but wondered if either vinegar or Coca Cola would have the desired result. Thoughts?

As I say, nothing too aggressive please.

Gentle rub with “The Pink Stuff”

Stuffs brilliant - like a very mild T cut, that can literally clean anything indoors.

Wipe down with an oily rag afterwards. 👍

Strange you mention it, Mrs K had a tub of the pink stuff for her birthday-it’s still in the utility room cupboard un-opened (no gratitude…I know).

I shall try on my return. Thanks.

Tooth brush and tooth paste, or better still that tooth powder that smokers use.
Toothpaste is an abrasive.
Ken.
