How steady is your dog?

I’m pleased we don’t have that over here my two would be at the bottom of the class presenting a easy scrapping session like that
Gotta a feeling they would cast caution to the wind 🤣🤣

I had a hare run between me and my 3 labs last season on a driven day, not a movement except heads turned to watch it run.
However, when I'm not close by, my youngest bitch will have a 5/10 yard run at a rabbit she's put up whilst beating before pulling up and looking embarrassed 😂

Not a problem , unless told " The joy of Labs " ( just dont let them if you don't want it ) Well to be brutally honest I did have Lab was always keen on nailing a fox , grabbed his first three times ( his milk teeth simply couldn't hold on but he didn't quit ) . Wasn't intentional i was pointing at one crossing the front field to attract my daughter to look , pup took on the idea he had to go fetch it back !
The Lab i have now might be autistic , he only really bothers with deer and then only when told

on a drive a few years back the farm cat was pushed out of its hiding place by the other team,
it ran towards the guns and sat on my right side, the spaniel on my left kept looking at the cat, but didnt bother it, probably for the best, any farm cat is usually a bit aggressive

how steady is my dog?

I can lay it up on the middle of a forest next to a carcass for as long as I want to, without it moving or touching the carcass.

Now that’s steady!

The teckel wouldn’t be interested unless it was a hare or a deer, at which point it doesn’t bother listening to anyone…

Having said that, the fact that you don’t want them to chase is normally enough to guarantee it will!
