Now that elk season has ended and spring has started to break, who decides to show up just in time to test the new fences?

This was early Friday morning and my usual stance this time of year is to leave them be in the hope that they will feel comfortable and return next year. But, not this year. First, I should say that this past season saw me out 81 days looking for these ladies with the luck of a man wearing an albatross necklace.
Not being one to look a gift elk in the mouth, the hunt was on (albeit with only a phone's camera). Long story short, my afternoon was well spent "play" hunting while I stalked the herd, lining up dozens of imaginary shots.

Most of the time the herd was within 2-300 hundred yards but I did manage 50-75 yards a few times which really got the blood moving. So, this day was only about the hunt and I'll take that most any day.
