Vacancy: RSPB venison project role

Hold on a minute! You're the fella who believes that everyone who does deer work should do it for free!
Not at all, I choose to give carcasses away because I can.

for someone with the relevant experience to relocate to that area on £30k not
on your Nelly, Can’t be done unless you live in a caravan

Now Ig accommodation was included. Then that’s a different ballgame is doable.

You go u up there and get on with it, if your that brilliant!?

No need for anyone to relocate if they live there already, surely?

Well it would certainly be a lot more than I've ever earned doing anything else, so in that respect it's tempting, but I'm quite happy doing what I'm doing for now, thanks.

Forgot your a farmer, you work for less than minimum wage and pay no tax 😂😂😂

I am well versed in the ways and means of the farming industry, I know how it works.

I wouldn't work for that shower of hypocrites if they paid me treble that. I do have some principles. There and again some do not I suppose.😡
Care to go into more detail on your reasoning for your thoughts?

The project as a whole seems to read well. What am I missing?

Cheers

Let's just say that their title and their actions are certainly poles apart. Just take a look at their actions and positions over the last few years if you are a person who enjoys or takes an interest in birds and wildlife as a whole. Nothing to do with this project but take a look at the birdlife on moorland they own compared with others.
Enough said.

Thanks for your response. I will take a further look. Cheers

Interesting level 2 and first aid required but doesn’t mention FAC.
A bit odd, yes but I am guessing.... what they are getting at is that the role would be liaising with stalkers (so having knowledge of how they work) but not actually doing any stalking. All of the deer management is already in hand with the landowning partners

Just because you have level 2 doesn’t mean you actually know what you’re talking about and how stalkers work.

But why would the first aid be a requirement if in the office liaising with stalkers and not out on the ground?

God knows, maybe they thought the successful candidate would accompany the four Cumbria Connect partners' stalkers at times to build a greater relationship with them and understand the provenance of the meat better

I agree it's an odd job description, at first glance it reads like a deer job but really it's a meat marketing role possibly suited to someone who has experience getting getting local specialist meats (like Herdwick lamb and mutton) into new local markets (like Tebay services)

The other oddity is that the role would be much more productive in other areas where there is a bigger deer problem and a venison supply chain issue (West Midlands for the example.) In the Lakes we don't have a particular deer problem and due to the plethora of top restaurants and hotels locally we can always sell carcasses and at a very good price
