Blaser Rifles

It's not possible for a blaser to fire with the safety on as it's the safety that cocks the rifle anyone with a rifle unattended with the safety off or hanging on a sling with the safety off should be handling guns regardless of brand

Ohhhhhhhhh Noooooooo 😱. That’s torn it OMG incoming incoming heads below the parapet you naughty blaser boys 🤣😦🤣😦

Boar & Deer is correct though.

almost all of the incidents with Blaser rifles are down to bad operation.
Yep 100% that’s one of the reasons I shoot them I like the safe process, as much as it pains me to talk about ND with a blaser if correct and no fault on materials driver error as normal with all other firearms

If someone's going to make up rubbish about a rifle that they hate because their wife won't let them have one atleast make it rubbish that is actually possible
It’s massively overpriced!

I could have got one for £1500 as a member of the UKSHA and I think the UKDTR had the same option, didn’t get one, now nearly £4k.

You tell me why is that rifle worth that amount of coin?

When I can buy a rifle for £500 that will do the job required!

IMO with Blaser you are paying for a rifle that you can take to bits put in a small case, travel somewhere, put it back together and it will reliably return to zero.I also find being able to switch barrel very handy.

I also like the shorter action.

I don't think you can buy a rifle for £500 that will do those things.

I have no reason to believe any of it was lies

Engineering does fail.
Just Because it “doesn’t , shouldn’t , can’t” fail.

Absolutely does not mean it won’t.

He returned to regular bolt action rifles and is quite content.

Any rifle can fail due to mechanical or otherwise.

Same as any product really.

in your example he must have been carrying the rifle cocked and loaded. he most likely caught the trigger on something.

no one I know carries any rifle in that condition because it is dangerous. ie loaded with bolt closed with the safety off whilst over their shoulder.

Used RWS titan, in all its unfashionable wonderfulness

As far as I can tell, owner and stalker checked and nothing was amiss

Two people ,not one

Nothing not to like about a blaser, good to shoot, works faultlessly very very accurate, all you have to do is clean it properly ???
I’ve got one or two blasers - Never had rust inside or out and they have all seen some bad weather
I hope your FAC ticket is more specific than you own “ One or two Blazers” in Bedfordshire the FEO’s are a bit “picky” regarding how many rifles you have

I have had two instances with paying clients, where a Blaser R8 discharged without notification.

Last time was about 5 years ago. The rifle was locked into an expensive pair of sticks. A fallow pricket had just been taken, and the rifle remained in the sticks, a clamp type system (there about £400 to buy).
The client was not touching the rifle, and I was about to move forward to pick up the fallen deer at about 80 yards away. Fortunatley I stopped myself. The client tounched the end of the stock to pick the rifle up, and it discharged.

Needless to say after this incident and the one before with an R8, I am not a lover of Blaser rifles.

They do ND

Examples such as this are not infrequent

Sounds very similar to the post from @Dave45

Scary

Not worth £4k in my book!

I can buy a Pelli case and travel anywhere and still get change out of £4k

Surely, we've all been taught to never rely on the safety catch on a cocked and loaded rifle? Things fail. At a BDS course a few weeks ago we were advised to "Bump test" our rifles regularly, as an extra safety precaution.

What's missing from these reports about NDs with Blasers is whether the rifle was in cocked state, or not? That's very important to know.

One of the features that I like best on my Blaser is the ability to safely load a de-cocked rifle, but I always guard against the risk of a slamfire, even though it's not cocked. As a youngster in cadets I was told that NDs when loading were the most common, if my memory serves me right.

I thought blazers were cheap 22 rounds, I wouldn’t have any of those in my cabinet. CCI only
I’ve got a weihrauch 22 hornet though on my ticket 🤣🤣🤣 but that’s on a need to know basis and guess what
