The good side of the Covid Vaccine

Not going to re visit all that was said about the new Covid vaccine or that many believed in conspiracy and it was poison.

That said out of the development of RNA vaccines has come the chance of a real cure for cancer tailored to the individual.

This herald the chance for many if cure and control without debilitating chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Instead your own immune systems kill the cancer.

It’s in trial stage but could herald a great new start in Cancer therapy and it’s all down to the Success of the Covid vaccine.

This is a huge step forwards IMHO

Let's hope the trials go well and that the scourge that is cancer can be treated at an early stage.

Yes I’m very guarded but the next step is to pick up cancers with a blood test and then create a vaccine from that. It won’t work for all cancers but we are one step closer to the golden bullet for cancer treatment. 🤞

If it proves to be successful, it will also take away the need for post-operative chemo to "mop up" any residual cancer cells.
I could not have the follow up chemo after my cancer surgery--too many post operative infections but I'm still here over 3 years later!! :old: :old:

Covid 19 is still lingering about as people at work are still getting it, along with the original symptoms of loss of taste and smell, and they’ve had the vacine..

Absolutely agree I’m working with a biotech business at the moment who provide growth media and other recombinants they can’t meet demand and it’s all driven by the science.

How long does it take to come up with the vaccine for each new form of COVID?
Each year we are told "You need the jab because it's a new version". By the time you get jabbed for that one the next one has developed on that basis. So you are always one step behind. Hence no more for me.

Same for all flu vaccines. It’s based on a best guess scenario.

I invest in small scale bio tech and its such a long and costly process - one company could not get approval here so has gone out for trials in Australia !

You know the previous variants are still out there, though? And that epidemiologists dedicate their professional lives to making the best possible forecasts? But better perfect or nothing, eh? Who wants something for free that might stop you getting really sick. That'd just be daft...

Prophylaxis does not have to be perfect. But risk v benefit needs weighing. What if your demographic has a near zero chance of harm from the pathogen and a hugely increased risk of harm from the pharma?

That ship has sailed. Drop it and move on for **** sake.

This is not about the Covid vaccine rather the good that that technology has potentially given us as a cure for cancer specific to the individual. I’m sure if you are facing (as many on here have) a 100% death rate if you don’t have treatment you will accept that any treatment has a risk but it’s better than the alternative trust me.

Sorry to hear that. It’s a **** thing to happen. Hope he does well with his treatment
Thanks (I’d say cheers but not with your moniker)
Early diagnosis and still waiting for full details but talk has been quality of life rather than operation.
So my mother-in-law had one son-in-law in hospital for almost two years and now her younger one has got cancer (but she doesn’t know as much as we do just now).
I hate to think what it’ll do to her as she at her wits end 7yrs ago when I was I’ll.

That is the point. The mRNA technology is common to both.

When rolled out, the C19 mRNA vaccine was "developed at the speed of science", rushed into deployment with the "safe and effective" banner flying above it. Now there is no doubt it was neither.

My cousin suffered vaccination-induced Guillain–Barré and nearly died.

Any intervention using gene therapy [irreversible changes to genome] needs a great deal more objective testing than we saw in C19 drug development.

Cancer treatment was definitely the intended application when the mRNA mechanism was developed. On paper, surgically modifying onco-genes is brilliant.

Glad I'm not daft 😷
