Nature is cruel - woodpecker

ive got a green wood pecker causing chaos in my garden. drilled a massive hole in the ash tree just to raise its young!!
The ash tree must have been in pretty poor shape to start with in that case, as green woodpeckers are really only capable of pecking away at rotten wood. It's the spotted woodpeckers that will chisel into solid timber.
Saw a Gull tearing into a roadkill Woodpigeon, not seen that before.

WB
Nothing unusual about that. Gulls will tear into pretty much anything dead or dying.

no clue if the tree is rotten but it does have a fungus growing in the same sort of place.
to be fair i think id prefer a wood pecker to black birds or blue tits

Ok.
This is all very well, but why is this in the “events and meetings” section?
Will this be happening again next year?
Are other woodpeckers invited to attend?
How much is it to buy a ticket for this event?

We had the same woodpecker after the blue tit chicks. The parents were really stressed 2 days later 1 fledged. 1 day later a crow on back garden killing a young wood pecker. What goes round comes around!

I have now just had a wax moth destroy a bumble bee nest in my other nesting box. The moth has left loads of larvae. Love bumble bees guess they all have to live and eat.
