Carry Cases for detached telescopic sights

How would I go about tracking one of these down? I suspect from its "patina" that it is older than I am and likely to be out of production...

Unless you were born before 1941 l suspect they are older than you.

They were supplied to the Swedish government by Ajack (German) scope makers along with the scopes and mounts.

Extremely difficult to find now but occasionally they do come up for sale, as far as l know they have never been copied, but never say never !

What about a piece of plastic plumbing waste pipe 2.5ins dia. cut to length and end caps fitted you can always cover it in leather with a leather belt strap to carry it if you want to impress the neighbours.

I looked for a padded, zipped cordura case for a scope when not in the rifle. I was surprised that I couldn't find anything the right size from ebay or amazon. I would still like one. One of my rifles gets a different scope fitted depending on what I'm doing with it, and it doesn't fit in the cabinet if either are fitted - so I'd qite like a couple of scope cases.

Any decent saddler will be able to make something for you and probably to your preference in both colour and design. Made several over the years, no rocket science involved, can be lined as required, etc.

Thank you, I reckon you are right. There is just something a bit nicer about leather.

Found a leather one for sale! in great condition too -only £1490!! Actually there was another one in far more "original" (Knackered) condition for nearly $2500. Your example is clearly of considerable worth!

I have an Ajack scope on a sporterised Enfield .303 that was done just after WW2 in the British sector of Germany with the officer in charges permission.

How about one of the tins a bottle of scotch comes in? Downside is you will have a bottle of scotch to find a home for. It's a dirty job...

Good morning all. Having had some innomount QR mounts fitted to some sights to allow quick switching between day and night/thermal sights, I now have the hitherto non-problem of how to safely carry (and store) detached telescopic sights. Having them rolling around the back of the car or jammed under a heavy coat strikes me as a less than perfect solution. Ideally I was thinking of a leather (non-clanking) or strong plastic tube, padded internally.
It is mainly only a problem when late afternoon stalking followed by spending the last knockings in a high seat.
Has anyone any suggestions?
I have the qr innomounts on all my scopes, for the same reason as you, I put my glass in the same carry case my thermion 2 came in, works perfectly, light, gives protection and has an adjustable strap.

Exellent idea, I suspect that as the tins are relatively thin, one would need to replace the tins on a regular basis...cracking notion...See you at AA!

I agree, the pulsar cases are very good, it does leave two day sights unaccounted for, which are shorter and easier to deal with.
I’d go with a Pelicase, however it’s an expensive option!
Excellent cases but as you say, they clearly have a firm grasp of the Stella principle "reassuringly expensive". They are serious bits of equipment and look just the job if travelling.

Dear All, a quick one to thank you all for your time, ingenious work-arounds and seriously helpful suggestions. I really appreciate you rallying to the call. There are a few things in here that I will do, but it is interesting that having soaked up the knowledge, practicalities and experience you have all shared with me, and actually worked out what the answer to the maiden's prayer is, I will keep using the Pulsar cases for now, and I am seeing Ian and Joe at Traditional English Guncases this week to ask them to quote to make a couple of leather tubes. They will cost some money no doubt, but their quality will be beyond compare. Sadly for me, leather is like lamb on a restaurant menu...once I have seen it, I struggle to see anything else.
Once I have recovered from fainting when I see the price, I will post a picture.
