Two Secare Knives...

... finished yesterday.

The first one is based on the Tech model, but not made in the Tech way, this is a hand made version so doesn't get the checkering detail.

SF100 steel at 5mm, black Micarta full take down scales.

Stonewashed finish steel throughout.

For the second one the client was first wanting a Tech style, he was drawn to the three fixings it gets, then he wanted a more standard version with the handle fixed, they are generally fixed with the two 10mm flared tubes, so I made him a hybrid of the two, this one gets three 8mm flared tubes as fixings.

Same steel spec.

Scales are green canvas Micarta.

These are pretty cool.

As I have shown previously most of the time the knives that I make are from band sawn blanks, if I can justify it though I do like a laser cut one.

You need a few to go at and in smaller quantities it isn't that cost effective.

I tagged these on whilst I mas having those P90's lasered.

Take down is always tricky to get 100% perfect by hand, I am very happy with how close that knife today is though, I have two more on the bench.

The handle material is the black Suretouch G10/rubber composite, the white lines you see in the countersinks are the rubber layers, they won't take a finish in there.

Those rubber layers are grippy as you like though, it feels great in hand.

I see a hybrid in the ether, ultralight when you want it and bolt on scales when you want the full monty. Just a thought

Forgot what a bit of kit these are, stonewashed steel throughout, Suretouch G10 finished down to 240g, to keep it grippy…
