CBD

I've seen my mother suffering the side effects of long-term reliance on conventional pain killers, and I really don't want to end up the same.
However, I struggle to get through a day without some kind of pain relief.
I've seen CBD recommended many times by people with the same medical condition that I have, and it seems to be working well for them, but until recently I didn't know anyone personally who was using it.
Just lately though a fairly elderly neighbour of mine underwent some major surgery and subsequently has been in a lot of pain and suffering from terrible cramps and unable to sleep. She's not (and never has been) a smoker, but has started vaping CBD oil. It took 3 weeks for her to feel any benefit, but now the cramps are gone and she's sleeping well.
She bought me a vape and a bottle of oil to try. Been on it for about a week now, and while I find it very pleasant, I am yet to feel any effects.
I was just wondering if anyone on here had any first-hand experience of using CBD oil, and in particular vaping it.
Nothing to say about the efficacy (or otherwise) CBD oil for anything - but I think that anyone starting to use a vape other than as a substitute for inhaling smoke might not have correctly understood the risk:benefit ratio...

I have considered it.
I am a smoker.
If, as a spin off from this, I end up smoking less, then that's a benefit.
And what's more, there's no nicotine in the CBD vape, so I reckon in that respect it could be a good move.

I'd no idea of your smoking history: but in any case, my comment was inspired by your description of the non-smoking lady's taking up vaping.

I think, based on what we know (or perhaps don't know) of vaping and vape-ingredients, I'd still suggest smokers try non-vape nicotine-replacement before vapes, insofar as they can't just pack it in.

Under those circs, the risk:benfit currently seems not unfavourable.

Starting to vape in order to take something that can be taken by less-questionable means doesn't to me make sense.

Another joke idea from clueless politicians and idiots in Whitehall.

The type of people that are drawn to the Herb are people who don't want to conform to the norms in society, they beat their drum, and dance to their own tune.

It's so easy to grow they will only laugh at the idea of "Regulated Cannabis"

Hmm I'd disagree to a certain extent there mate. Yeah sure some are drawn to it initially because of the reason you suggested. But plenty choose it as life supplement but hate the 'naughty' side to it & being forced to break a law.

You could replace the word "Herb" with "fieldsports" and your statement would apply to plenty of members of this site.
Who the feck wants to comply to the norms in society, with society being what it is?
Proud to say I've always beaten my own drum and danced to my own tune!

Is it really any worse than the demon drink / alcohol
?
is it really a gateway to stronger stuff?

Plenty life’s ruined by drink and cost to NHS etc

Maybe if they decriminalised it or made it legal with venues to buy they ( powers that be ) could raise bit extra revenue for the country’s empty pockets 😂🤔
Maybe less trouble if folk sat down for half hour had a dooby and chilled for a bit ? 😂

I was talking to my 11 yr old about drugs other day. I described the pros & cons of booze & weed and then asked which one she thought should be legal out of those two - easy she said 🌬️ ☮️

Fieldsports are legal, growing cannabis is illegal

You don't see many people Stoned & Disorderly, they may want a kip on the sofa and something to eat... Drunk and Disorderly on the other hand, plenty every Friday & Saturday in Norwich...

Look at the Liberal states in America that have loosened drug laws, plenty of Zombie streets... mind you thinking about it there are a couple in Norwich later in the day :-|

Agreed Ben, if alcohol was invented tomorrow it would be illegal I'm sure.

That's irrelevant.
The point I was making is that beating one's own drum and dancing to one's own tune, not just blindly following the crowd, can be positive qualities, and with fieldsports not being the "norm" in today's society those of us who shoot tend to be doing just that.

(And besides, people who strive to be "normal" tend to be excruciatingly boring!)

At least keeping it illegal means no one can get it, war on drugs success
Coming soon to a town near you, a multitude of criminal children, charging around on BMX bikes, armed with knives, equipped with mobile phones, to serve up the waiting queues of zombies with any flavour they crave, a major war on drugs success!

Are you talking about Great Yarmouth by any chance :-|
