The UK Squirrel Season Is All But Upon Us

I love squij bashing.
It's a good thing, easy and relaxing. You always see other good things too. Like the time I happened on a passionate young couple.
Boy were they in love!

The other good thing is squirrel shooting is good shooting practice .

I'll be honest, 🐿 management is my key focus at the moment. I've got a 4 berth Fenn box, 4 quill boxes, live traps, and 3 Feeders all in action at the moment on one permission......and the Munty and planned Roe Doe thinning is getting a pass.

Buggers chewed through around 8kgs of nuts (and a quill!) in the last 3 weeks.....but are now suffering the consequences.........🙂

Nice set up.

Nice set up.
Yup, a lot invested in it but certainly pays dividends. Also find a couple of hours in a hide in a wood quite cathartic too....so be benefits all around.

The next door neighbour to this permission has asked me to tackle his grey menace too.....but will ask for the equipment and nuts to be subsidised.......costs a bloody fortune.

I have had 8 squirrels in the last week off the bird table and then found they were gone by morning. Now I find they are being taken away and eaten by a fox.
So now I have a dilema, do I shoot the fox then I will have to dispose of the tree rats myself or do I keep the status quo and let the fox continue disposing of them for me?
