A variety of Scottish delicacies

Me and a mate stopped in Dumfries and decided to have scotch pie, chips and peas, at which point the man serving dipped the whole pie in batter and deep fried it, heart attack material, tasted great after the initial shock had warn off!😋
Finished off with a Mars bar in batter?

Haggis, mars bar, snickers and bounty, all offered in batter, in the same shop🥵🤣
Chippy when I was growing up would batter anything for you on certain days/times before they changed oil. One of best I remember doing was a cream egg!!

Yes but even we paused at the battered pizza slice 🤮
Foreign food like Pizzas were never battered by the slice in our local. Just folded in half, cheese bit on the inside, and deep fried. The dough didn’t soak up as much oil as you’d think, a bit like a doughnut. But if the seal wasn’t good it did tend to hold the oil inside with the cheese.
Fine food on a cauld night. And always as a supper.

I remember the emergence of the "pizza supper" at our local chippy in Buckpool as a boy. Jesus wept, the shite we ate....

Always Moray Cup. Spangles were always the last sweetie eaten from the selection box at Christmas.
