Sticks upgrade suggestions

Since moving to Alpex 4k I’ve become more aware of muzzle flip, even with 6.5cm, from my basic model 4 stable sticks

I’d like to move to something as portable but a lot more stable, maybe even the 5 leg versions..

Question is, which one?

A change of sticks won't reduce muzzle flip..... you're noticing it more because of the way the scope.is.set up, probably due to the rubber eyepiece?

I'm guessing the 'flip' will be better moderated c/o improved dampening in the area of forend support and perhaps a different approach to the Op's hold.

A 5th leg on any of these sticks will be fwd of the front sticks so the "flip" is the rifle going backwards with recoil which happens with any recoil.
A 5th leg won't stop recoil it will stop you pushing the rifle fwd but to do that you need to load weight onto the 5th leg as it acts like a 45.deg straining post.
I use b&q sticks and carry a length of dog rose (5th stick) on certain bits of ground where I have a bit more time.
There is much more going on with a Red at 200 yds than a muntjac at 90 yds they both need to be right.

Edit, I fired a 6.5cm yesterday, never shot that style of rifle or scope had 2 dry-fires to learn the trigger then managed 2 holes about 8mm apart off my old sticks never noticed any flip as it has hardly any recoil!

I feel zero recoil and never noticed it it with glass … didn’t stop me shooting 2 munties within 30 seconds of each other at 130M yesterday though

I solved a similar problem with someone recently. He changed his grip and his grouping came a lot smaller. Put it down to flip.

Muzzle flip on quad sticks can be controlled by good stance positioning and contact with the butt of the rifle. I Shoot a swede and with care can usually maintain a shot picture.

Two other points to consider, are you using more magnification and is the field of view on your chosen magnification smaller than your previous scope. Can you get by with less magnification?

Then get the 4k gremlin out of your head, the mind will say it is the fault of the scope every time, people have a off day on clay's start changing chokes different cartridge just want to blame something lol
