Begara B14 extreme sierra or Tikka T3x lite

Evening all,

I’m looking at getting a begara B14 extreme sierra 18inch barrel in .223 as a new foxing rifle.

Unfortunately my local shops don’t stock begara so was wondering if anyone has one and could give me some feedback / opinions on them?

Will either be the begara or a S/H tikka tx3 lite

Thanks
Jack

Get this mate ^^^^

This is what you'll get from folks who own whichever rifle you're asking about, I've got the B14 Extreme Sierra in .223, and another ,223 and a couple of other B14s.

They will all pretty much do the job and shoot better than you. Decide what you want from the rifle, try it for fit if you can and even better shoot it if you get the chance. Neither of the two you've listed will let you down.

Fit is important, the standard Tikka stocks are not built for big people so if you happen to be one I would try it out for size. Having said that you can modify the stocks to fit but it will cost you more. Tikka are doing a rather handy Ranch version of the T3x in .223 with. 16 in barrel.

I was in the exact same boat last year. I ended up choosing the Tikka for a couple of reason.

First of all with Tikka rifles they had a deal on for 50% off Stalon moderators.
Secondly, I preferred the tikka bolt lift and overall action feel.
Thirdly, Just felt the bergara felt a small bit less refined.

If I was to go back - would I be unhappy with the Bergara? Likely not. Do I get on well with the Tikka? Absolutely. As an example first 2 groups out of it with 55g vmax - both were 0.5" groups.

Hope that helps somewhat,
