Had an invite today which was two fold with this block of rape is covering 7 fields so needed a bit of working out with just the 2 of us!
1 gas gun left on 4 double sets of rope bangers also my shooting would cover the field further from me and keep them moving.
I had looked at it Wednesday but things can easy change watching birds by-pass you to a spot they want to feed on, birds in large bunches with the temptation to shoot at them but we both know that a couple for the back of the bunch is better.
I soon got to 15 then it slowed up but keep chipping away and the numbers look after themselves, with a road no more than 60 yds behind me also a thick hedge I was only going to pick the birds out in front with the dog.
All singles apart from 2 pairs a few birds went with the wind dropping a long distance away, 37 from the 48 clicked was ok, my friend picked 35 from 41 as his bit was chewed to the ground with the rest in the brambles.

Did you train them your self Tim ?
Train lol, just to what I want them to do the rest they have it in them.
I just make it a game all the time from day one, Finn learnt to "catch" over the last couple of weeks as Toby would get the bits he dropped, you get a pigeon with a bit of go in it and it half takes off then the "catch" bit kicks in.
I like these ones.
"Finn"
This Dad "Toby"

Love this one

I got fed up years ago defrosting pigeons also it works out as I have had early calls to go to a spot, with them frozen on the cradles they are ready to go! They can be used again in the colder months.
