Hi all

Wanted to introduce myself, I’ve been shooting for over 25years man and boy so to speak,! Mainly shoot varmints ,pigeon, fox,crow,rabbits love distant shots. I have pretty much all calibres i need for my critters ! 2 Fac air rifles, 22lr,17hmr ,204 and 223 and a slot for a nice 17 hornet if i can find one , CZ 527 that is …anyone ?.

As far as I am concerned the .17 hornet is the gun I was hoping the 17hmr would be !, originally I was hoping the 17hmr would kill clean to 200yrd and dont get me wrong sometimes it certainly can but shot placement is everything as at over 150yrd the 17hmr loses velocity and terminal impact ,and at close to 200yrd sometimes doesn’t allways fragment now that’s a small bullet with little sectional density and some critters just crawl away needing a second shot.
My son loves head shots with the 17Hmr but we are talking at 100yrd with thermal, I want to clean kill at 200yrd so .17hornet will do that nicely , anything further I have my .204 but that’s another story .
