Good evening all
As the title suggests, I’m looking for a mentor to help me with all things stalking.
I have land with deer on it. The land is tricky to shoot so will need advice on that as well as all the other stuff. My permission is in north Hampshire so ideally someone local.
TIA

Can't help with the mentoring, but used to live north hants and went to school with a Simon Scott.. would only be 52 now though..
Sorry wrong Simon Scott.
But wow I didn’t many Simon’s when I was a kid let alone one with the same last name.

In all honesty

Do some paid stalks, ask questions and apply that to your own ground , there’s some genuine diamonds out there but there’s also some low life’s that would think nothing of going to your farmers door to pinch your land.

Unless you are 100% secure that a low life will be rejected , get some paid stalks under your belt.

I won’t bang on too much but I know of folks that lost their ground to high ish profile stalkers doing their DSC2 witnessed stalk on their own ground.

The AW went back after the stalk and said to farmer they could do it better , easy as that.

about an hour away, your safe from me trying to nick it lol. I’m trying to keep places closer.
If you don’t find anyone else, drop me a line, it shouldn’t take to many trips to get you confident. Or as has been suggested, go out with some pro stalkers.
But, it the issue is your land, then that is what you want to concentrate on.

Good advice. Thanks.

I would recommend you do your DSC and then just crack on yourself. You'll soon learn for yourself what works and what doesn't. And there's no pressure to take any shot you're not happy with. And it comes at zero risk of having some devious piece of work try to take your permission.

Personally I think its really sad when people need to warn of the potential for someone to stab you in the back...but alas thats life.

I struggled to find a mentor just to get more experience of the node inspection for my DSC2 despite contacting BASC (total waste of time). I then picked up a bit of stalking closer to home and managed to get the direct experience and got DSC2 completed earlier this year.

If I wasnt in mid wales I would happily help...would never consider trying to "steal" someones ground. Good luck in your quest 👍

As has been said before just be very careful of some lowlife trying to nick your ground very unfortunately it does happen, deer stalking is not some mystical art and not rocket science, safety is paramount on all occasions check for backstops before squeezing the trigger, hope you get the help you think you need 👍👍

Thanks for the vote of confidence… we’re not all scheming low life you know! I’m more about giving back what others gave me when I was starting out.
