Remington 700?

Today I traded my 527 for a 700.
According to the date code I think it's from 2010.
This will be my fourth liaison with a 700 but I don't recognise the trigger in that it is black and I thought the later versions had an adjustment screw in the blade and were of a satin grey finish. Could it be an after market?? It is quite a nice trigger and I was surprised!
Thanks in advance.

Rifke basix are also black if I recall

If as the OP says he found the trigger surprisingly good then probably not a Rifle Basix! 😂

To br fair I’ve got 2 or 3 and they’re not great but they’re safe and break cleanly - just a lot of slop when uncocked or the safety on.

I didn't notice any slop! 🤞

Always good not having any slop! If it’s a RB trigger the advice I was given is don’t mess with it - leave it as set by the factory and don’t be tempted by the 3 little grub screws… Sounds like it’s a good one whatever it is. Love my 700’s, have 5, all of them shoot extremely well, have fun!

Most of the eaten up with Remington 700’s guys I know take the set screw trigger out and replace them . Of the six 700 action guns I’ve got one has a good old 700 trigger , four have Timney triggers that’ll adjust down under a pound and the sixth one my muzzle loader has the set screw trigger but it still is down to 1 1/2 pounds and consistent . The 700 5R fluted HB gun I have I purchased new and it had the set screw trigger . Before I ever fired it we put a Timney in and set it at about ten ounces . This rifle goes thru life with a suppressor and is usually fired from a Caldwell tripod front and back cradle thing , this gun is usually used for damage control stuff in warmer weather .

My gunsmith replaced my Mark x pro trigger with a Timney in my olde .204 700 it was a great improvement then he proceeded to do everything else to accurrise it,cut new chamber,re barrel & 12% crown after that it was perfect😄😄
