Belt kit for stalking

Had a few belt kits (Napier, Monach, random tactical fanny packs) and would say they all slip and need regular readjustment unless you have the shoulder braces.

Go small rucksack.

Best two I’ve found are the Decathalon 20L or the Swedteam Alpha 5L.

Both will hold a Monach compact roe sack & essentials - Decathalon obviously holds more, so is my fallow bag with suspended gralloch rigging.

I use an old molle admin pouch. I have a diagonal shoulder strap and then a piece of 6mm shock cord that goes round the waist. It will hold a small seat pad for winter high seats, a Spartan bipod, range finder, graloch kit: gloves, s hook, wipes, drag cord. Spare batteries, small steel. Trauma kit, mini thermos. It has two shock cord loops that will hold a squeeze bag to the bottom. I sometimes decant the contents into pockets, but it’s great if you are in and out of vehicles and less annoying than a bum bag style when covering ground.

Another vote for a small backpack.
Waist packs always seem like a good idea, but never quite live up to the expectation.

I had a wide (2" ) leather belt made by a local business.
I scrounged a small leather handbag from one of my daughters and out of the strap from it made a couple of belt loops.
I carry a small collapsing seat of minimal footprint along with a diy sit-mat and these two items are strapped together for carrying and tuck nicely out of the way under the belt at the back.
If walking stalking then all fine and doesnt get in the way.
If i go up a high seat or sit in a likely spot, the belt comes off.

I have a similar setup for when i fly my hawk but use the Ammo dump pouches threaded onto a similar belt instead of a hawking vest.
It doesnt have to be a Molle type belt to use these bags.
A few stitches to the molle loops will make them into permanent loops.

I use the Napier Apex. It’s handy to have the toe sack built in. It’s comfy and I don’t find it slips too much if I remember to adjust for the clothing I’m wearing. It’s got a pocket or two too many for what I need to carry, which means I need to be restrained from the urge to fill it!

I use the Monarch/Ogden's compact roe sack, with all my stuff in one of the two pouches it comes with. Since I started wearing it over my left hip, rather than at the back, it doesn't slip at all.

This sounds well thought through. Could you post some photos?

My go-to stalking jacket is an unlined Arktis item that has 5 pockets at the waist (2 at the front, 2 at the sides, and 1 across the back). As such, it works like a belt kit integrated into a jacket. Other positives are 2 outer and 2 inner breast pockets, two zips for accessing inside pockets, and underarm zips for temperature control.

I've been out with a chap who carries his bits and bobs in the 2 rocket pouches from a large Bergen, I believe they're issued with the shoulder straps to hang them from. Held everything he needed with room to spare I'd have said.

I’ve just put one together with the decathlon belt bag , holds all I need bar a folding gambrel which I’m hoping to find at the stalking show ,
Holds couple knives , small ratchet system , couple s hooks , gloves , wipes , small first aid kit , chest saw
Haven’t used it yet but need to sort waist size out and tape up all the loose ends that normally sorts out it coming loose when using it ,

Depends on your situation and hunting style. Here I don’t feel comfortable without the ability to carry enough to survive 24h on my own so I have a modified molle army belt setup with a selection of pouches to carry rain jacket, 1 litre of water+ metal cup, coffee/hot chocolate sachet, dehydrated meal, gas stove, Leatherman + bit kit, fire starter, first aid kit, gps, radio, head-torch, tape, mylar blanket, tripod, backup paper map and a sandwich. My bino pouch carries knife, bipod, sharpener and beacon for serious emergencies.

I agree with the comment around shoulder straps though, my gear was a lightweight as possible without compromising safety but I just never got comfortable with hunting in a backpack.

I have a Polish "LFO" set, recommended by @Rory IIRC that works great when I don't want to take the Vorn on the hill but need more that I usually carry in my pockets. I'll see if I can find the link - its a good compromise.
