Chairman of LACS arrested

Considering how they portrayed themselves as whiter than white it’s alarming how often these allegations are coming up!

I always find it ironic that whilst politics brings some of the most intense media scrutiny of those involved it it, those involved in it seem to have a far greater inclination towards unacceptable behaviour than most ordinary people.

I doubt it.
It's just that most ordinary people aren't thrust into the limelight every time they do something stupid, or when their past comes back to haunt them.

Ivor Caplin is the first that springs to mind but a quick google came up with a piece from the guardian from a couple of years ago.
Thanks, most interesting. My point was more that Selous was implying that Labour were especially prone to this, and to being hypocritical about it - and I was hoping he could out some flesh on those bones, as it were. For what it's worth, my impression is that, in the party-by-party sleaze-and-hypocrisy boat race, Labour's record is akin to that if the "dark blues", while the Conservatives are the "light blues", and UKIP/Reform are powering ahead with their little outboard going at full chat... But then I sometimes let my imagination run away with me.

National media will purvey this. Your local level beasts are purveyed by local press.

I read it as an apolitical statement and directed at all politicians rather than specifically Labour. But labour probably more prone to it at the minute as more politicians, more seats etc.

Yes, but numbers still being lower despite more seats suggests Labour are not more prone - though give them 16 years in power and I daresay they'll do their best to catch up!
I'm not really bothered about which party is being tarred / whitewashed / whatabouted, except insofar as it those doing it are merely venting their prejudice, not reporting facts. I'm happy to pay attention to well-evidenced facts, but I'm up to here with partisan lying and smearing on any side.
It is horrible on a personal level and patently disastrous on a social, national and international level.
