Hi peeps

Done a bit of searching and reading on the forum and unless missed it not sure if this was covered

Supplying a deer to a butcher just for my usage, can I do this both in skin and out of skin

OLD DSC1 with food hygiene element held, not registered as a food business

I know so sell to them /take items back to sell on requires food business registration

For your own consumption its doesn't matter although most butchers won't take anything in with skin on for hygiene and food safety in their chillers.
Always good to be a customer of said place before asking a favour same with folks that walk into butchers demanding dog bones without buying anything.

I don't know what criteria butchers come under but me as hunters exemption i was
in formed after lot of back n forth with EHO ..as hunters exemption you cannot butcher somene else's kill and give them it back ...in layman's you can't provide a butchery service for someones own kill / own consumption .
Only AGHE can .
Many say hat's bollocks but I've had FSA FSS and someone with Venison Dealers Licence dept all confirm

Yep. I was under the same allusion. It's crazy to me for us all to be jumping through the required hoops to be able to provide wild venison, and then have the rug pulled from under our feet. But that's the law I guess, and we just have to suck it up 🤔
