Shooting pigeons in sheds.

Do not try Z-Lang or any other .22 short ammo ! I can guarantee that you'll go through wriggly tin or any other more modern equivalent with it. A barn roof with a a series of .22" holes through it will not please the farmer.

You will have to be careful enough with an air rifle if it's close to 12ft/lbs and the roof is getting on a bit.

Another option is something like a sharp innova or sharp ace pump up air rifle or similar.
Just give enough pumps to be able to knock them down.
177 is my preference with it not being as loopy as a 22.

People knock them, but I've had great success with CB longs. If you've already got a 22 then worth seeing if your rifle likes them. Must admit it's rats in shed I use them on, but have taken pigeon off beams too but real chance of penciling through them (CB long are solid) and making holes in roof. I don't go much beyond 30yd with them as group opens up dramatically.

In my experience, the most efficient way of dealing with pigeons in sheds is to use a magazine fed pcp air rifle.
Night time is normally best, as when disturbed the pigeons are much less likely to fly out the shed, when it’s dark outside.

A very good tip. Better still if you've got the kit to do it with NV or thermal.

I've tried trapping pigeons singly but not en masse. What would be the pigeon equivalent of a ladder trap for corvids?

If there's stock in the sheds, be sure to pick up all the fired pellets, as lead poisoning can affect all types of stock

More like a pheasant trap, flat cage with swinging doors or funnels

Find their escape hatch and have a friends lined up with a shotgun. Walk into the barn, they fly out, bang. Then both of you sit and wait with shotguns by the hole/hatch and 10-15 minutes later they come back.

airgun is the best , just watch that you have a backstop . don't get too close as splash back hurts but it can also take an eye ( i tend to wear safety specs). Very light 410 with a small charge of small lead shot isn't so bad but it is not as useful as a ,22 air rifle .
look out for your health doing this ferals are really just as dangerous as rats . wear nitrile gloves and a dust mask from the dander you can breathe in from pigeon feathers

I love the circumlocutory dexterity with which they avoid using the word "trap"! English teaching in China appears to have come on in leaps and bounds.
I also saw a rotary trap on Temu that looks like it might work.
A walk-in ground trap is a bit of a hostage to fortune in the location I would use - too much farm traffic - but there are several elevated spots where one might site a perching trap.

Ty for all the info really appreciate it, I am getting a .22 dreamline as I can turn power up and down and also a 410 hushpower and have someone outside shoot them as the flush, just need to find the right ammo for hushpower that wont break the bank per slab and will be all set

See the distance you’re shooting at then pattern to see ?

Probably the best is trapping or poison I’d imagine followed by having a few mates outside with shotguns and flushing them

Good luck finding a poison. Proofing the roof to roosting or nesting would be the best option

Most shorts are pathetic in an LR at least but you can get lucky with anything sometimes. CCI Quiets are much better ( in most LR) though they have std weight bullets with a lesser charge than LR . Always 12 ftlb air unless its a very big barn

You are correct, i was in no doubt in the uk, cant imagine ireland is different
