Any contacts for stalking in north Wales. Looking at the terrain this week end and thought its got to be good

Nothing in North Wales that warrants any kind of paid guiding/stalking, pockets of fallow here and there and reports of muntjac near the boarder, but nothing else unfortunately. Few wild goats up the hills of Snowdonia and surrounding areas.
Lived here all my life and always wondered why there aren’t any deer here of any considerable number.

It doesn't quite work in an English accent but...

"I imagine its the local lads with their lamp and their two-two-two"

We have some good habitat for deer, but much of it is separated from the areas where deer are by the type of ground that deer don't like to cross, such as large expanses of densely stocked, closely grazed sheep pasture. There's an absence of natural wildlife corridors linking the areas of deer habitat together. Therefore the isolated populations that we do have have remained isolated.

That's more of a thing in south Wales.
The locals in north Wales don't seem particularly interested in the deer.

There are two ways to get stalking in north Wales:

Option 1: Stand in the queue waiting for the person in front of you to either die or emigrate, while all the time looking over your shoulder in case the person behind you tries to stab you in the back.

Option 2: Buy a farm and deer fence it, then release a herd of deer on your farm.

The first option is a bit tedious, so I went with option 2.

A couple of guys I knew years ago would travel up to Dogellau to stalk on a couple of small farms around Coed-y-Brennin. The majority of the deer control in the area was carried out on FC (now NRW) land by their rangers. The main deer populations in north Wales seem to be centred to the east of the region near the Cheshire border from what I have read.
Most north Waliens know absolutely nothing of deer, even less than than the rest of the great British public and have only ever seen pictures of them in books.

Have seen roe around Glyn ceriog. And occasionally they appear in bala. There's supposedly reds at lake vyrnwy. They would possibly get established if it wasn't for the joskins of Bala and their shotguns

Duw, it's been a long minute since last heard that phrase 😂😂

Remember when we used to go out "down coast" Llandudno, Conwy etc and anytime it kicked off their lot always calling us "joskins" hahaha ahhh

good times 🫩😵

I spent first 30 years of my life in Conwy valley. Most of them years on farms. Can't recall ever seeing a bloody deer of any variety!
