Never hear about freezing ticks for removal?

While surfing on net for tick prevention I came across this Australian study. While lyme is not a plague on continent they suffer a large number of anaphilactics cases, some deadly, from ticks bites..Ascia, public Institute for healt, seems preferring a shot of cryo spray on ticks to any other removing procedure. here is the related research

What do you think about? Generally speaking any thing that can irritate or mismatch the ticks can lead to a higher risk of contamination cause of regurgitation. So no flame, oil or other chemicals fluids for making it falling off. but freezing (by pressurized ether as er Ascia procedures or liquid azote) should be an instant kill. so may be effective 9n avoiding vomiting.

One of my shooting pals after stalking ,changes all his stalkjng clothes in the garage and they go straight into deep chest freezer.
Then into house for shower using good old fashioned lemon soap.
He keeps them there as long as he can ,ideally about a week he says.
It seems to help him as he has not had a tick for at least 3 years but then again maybe he is just lucky?

Thanks, I'll have a read of that. Removing within 24/48hrs of attachment is the key
I agree, if You can spot and remove them before they get to the point of regurgitating You have a good chanche to be free of infections. But is only a chanche, becasue we all know that as soon as ticks are going to bite-pinch (sorry I ignore the correct term) they are introducing saliva with anestetic functions, as not to be discovered. The freezing process should so immediate to avoid vomiting but not the pinch bite's evental conseguencies.

As far as I know the best way to get reed of those nasty buggers from clothes and tissues is the dryer. Ticks needing umidity to survive so a deep plug into a sahara kind of enviroment shoud cure them.

Ps about tick's bites this year seems we have e wide spread of popolation ad one increase of lyme cases, at least here in Itlay. My hunting pall, ho had been a military doctor with plenty of missions in africa, was nearly going to pass away after being infected by one wich was concealed in the beard

I got two in all my life (at least it is what I suppose). One was between ear and jaw (stealth in the beard) and another on rear neck, near nape (had a friend to teke it off). Bet it depends on how tall is the grass they climb on. Both time had been very lacky: both where just setled (i mean just starting biting) and didn't had any health conseguencies.

Or... they are fitted by Alps climbing an reach higher???

Our local DMG had a talk from a scientist from the neighbouring large grouse moor. He put a tick in his freezer over the winter and it was alive in the spring!
