I’ve seen a few different online stores eg
Black woods and Scott country

Blackwoods offer the Nightblaster IR Torch & Battery Kit ( no real info on spec )

And Scott’s offer this torch factory evo 50as

Can anyone shed any light on this for me (I’m new to this rifle business.

Thanks in advance for any help.

A cheap LED torch for ratting is perfect but for longer range foxing not so good so if you want a torch that will do both the Wraith ESL is the one to buy.

Our Dark Engine BLADE works extremely well with the Alpex 4K. You'll see well to 500 yards and well enough to 1,000 to check your backdrop.

It's also the smallest, lightest illuminator you can buy.

Mount it at 45 degrees in a cheap low QR 1" scope ring and it will miss the LRF hump and tuck into the scope so you won't even notice it's on there.

Made in the UK with a lifetime warranty too.

Cheers

I purchased a Dark Engine Blade last year and have to say that I'm very impressed with it when used alongside the Alpex 4K. Most of the time it's used at reduced power with the beam flooded, but at full power and concentrated beam it really does reach out.

I’m still faffing with torches for the Alpex
Currently trying my sniperhog to see if I get on with that any better

I have the dark engine blade as well. Decent IR and nice and small. You will be able to clearly see at ranges beyond what you will want to shoot out to. I have shot a few foxes around the 250 yard mark and nice and clear 👍

I bought a Dark Engine Blade to replace the Sirius XTL i used with my C50, it was just as powerful but not quite as clean but i stuck with it for the weight saving and compactness.
Moved the C50 on and used Zulus for a while before buying a 4K Alpex, i thought i was sorted for an IR with the Blade but as the Alpex is more sensitive than the C50 it seemed to pick up the artifacts more and gave a dirty image that i wasn’t happy with. Speaking with a few other people that experienced the same the Wraith ESL came to the fore, cleaner and brighter.
Here’s a quick comparison vid 280yds to the pens, Bade first, you can clearly see the dirty image when the scope moves and then the Wraith ESL (first time out and not aligned correctly) the other thing is the Wraith has 2 means of adjusting so you can choose exactly how much of your screen you want to fill with the base section and then still have the ability to pencil the beam tighter with the lens. Its the cleanest VCESL out there.
Try to ignore the sound, whoever approved the microphone on the Alpex needs throwing in jail lol.
