Lightweight boots

Jack Pyke Tundra boots, my favourite . I wear them all the time in Africa last time bow hunting soft sole but tough and quite and very comfy. Wont break the bank.
They are advertised as water proof but they are not.

I’d strongly recommend Lowa Innox GTX.

They are without question the most comfortable footwear I’ve ever worn, including trainers.

I’ve had several pairs, as they do tend to wear quite quickly (but I do literally wear them every day). I’ve worn them in various climates, including overseas and never had an issue.

They are extremely lightweight and breathable, but they haven’t got a huge amount of ankle support so just bear this in mind.

One of my pairs have just started to have a bit too much wear and I’ll be replacing them with the exact same model.

Definitely worth a look 👍🏻

Hello
Looking for recommendations for a lightweight boot.
I’m a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to boots, lundhags and meindle are my go to, with all this dry weather I was looking for something lightweight and a slightly softer sole that I can feel underfoot, saves me crunching through all the dry twigs and branches😊 had a wee look at the Salomon 4d? And look reasonable.
Cheers

Look at the Rocky (American) boots but they are available in the UK; not ridiculously expensive and genuinely lightweight, waterproof and breathable - 400 grams per boot. Some of the soles are so engineered as to ensure you do not pick up much gravel/mud with each step and are air filled with rubber pillars inside (rather than vice versa) to lessen the weight and increase the feel.

They look good, are they true to size?

They are US sizes so in medium men's sizes US sizes are 1 number higher but look at a sizing chart before purchase to compare UK/European/US sizes. I had many many pairs one the years- all were well made. The sizes are consistent and match what they say in equivalent UK sizes. They are also generally "wide" fittings - equally importantly.
It's the tech in the way they are designed - soles not to pick up too much weight, angle of ankle support (where present), the eyelets and insoles - in the heavier boots the cork granule base above the sole which moulds with heat to your foot shape when first used etc etc etc - those are the clever bits.
