Anyone made a ‘piggy back’ double leather knife sheath??

For those who have seen my thread, I have got an Enzo Fisher that I’ve been trying to make a Kydex sheath for so I can double it up with a Brisa Bobtail from a single hanger in the same way Casstrom pair up the No10 & Mini Safari.

After much faffing about with a heat gun I’ve sort of got the Kydex sheath for the Enzo sorted but I’m not 100% happy nor convinced it’s what I want. So plan B is to use leather.

Some time back I remember seeing a photo of a ‘piggy back’ double sheath someone had made but can’t for the life of me find it despite being pretty sure I commented on it at the time. I’ve tried doing a search & have also been trawling through all the threads I’ve replied to… 😵‍💫

If you’ve made such a sheath, know who it was who made it or have any photos of such a sheath I can use to work out how best to make one, could you please let me know 👍

Meantime I’m off to carry on trawling al, the threads I’ve replied to over recent years!

Thanks.

@FISH BOY - thanks, that first stacked one is exactly the idea I’m looking at - would you be able to take a few more pics from the sides to show if both half’s are moulded out from the centre piece or whether the half nearest the body is made as if it were a single sheath & the second one is moulded onto it? - it looks like the latter but would be good to see some detail 👍

Thanks too for the offer of the @snake_2586 double sheath, unfortunately it won’t take both my knives as it looks as it was made for the knife & zipper you’ve got. It’d take the Enzo OK but the Brisa is a short wide blade so wouldn’t fit I don’t think. But much appreciated anyway.

I would say the back sheath is made as a single, with the front moulded onto.

4 layers. Ie, back, spacer, top, second piggyback top.

I'd avoid a massively thick single welt by first constructing the small top sheaf, with an oversize back, then make the large sheaf using the aforementioned as the bigger knife's top peice of leather.

Basically each sheaf will have its own staggered welt, so you never need push an awl & needle through more than 3 layers of leather.

If I wasn't up to my neck in a massive garden decking project I'd have a play at constructing one.

Thanks @Klenchblaize - would you mind dropping me a sketch of a side view on WhatsApp please when you get a chance? - are you suggesting no welt for the smaller top knife?

I don’t envy you doing a decking project in this heat 🥵🥵 - I’m sat inside with a beer just watched the GP qualifying 🍺

Not really answering the question, but I have tied a Fällkniven F1 sheath flat against an A2 sheath with a black leather bootlace.20250131_223613.jpg
Pic is the Mk1 attachment - current version is less inelegant.

Perhaps, however, this is exactly the kind of jury-rigged abomination you're trying to avoid?

The following best demonstrates the approach I'm suggesting but without the fire steel pocket:
