Scone game fair

Went up today, weather was great 20c and sun with a nice breeze. Nice wee show to walk round for a few hours. Hey it’s not a big show but a nice enough size to get round once to have a nose then second time to buy something that catches your eye then some food and set off home. I ment say I get tickets free every year that’s why I go but if I had to pay I would probably go once every 2 years. I’ve thing that does p**s me off about these things are folk with dogs unless you are competing or going in the fun scurry then leave the t***s at home. Bloody leads going all directions and sh**e not being picked up by the lazy h***ing owners,I might chuck the lead rope on the wife’s horses and take them for a tottle round the stalls next year because they are as much pets as folks sausage dogs or frenchies or Great Danes or gid knows what else! And while I’m on the subject why carry a bloody pup in your arms all day ? I mean surely it doesn’t make sense . Any hoo enjoyed the weather and the drive up and back from Dumfriesshire was nice and quiet apart from a wee delay at dumblane show on the way home.

It’s hilarious. People dressed in full gear as if heading out for a day on the hill or whatever.

Good to hear someone made it - unlike us, thanks to those bloody french air traffic controllers striking and us losing our Edinburgh flight!

I was there on Friday and Saturday and thought it was as good a Scottish Game Fair as I’ve seen in a good while.

Good range of exhibitors and some really well put together stands and displays.

Bumped into friends, old and new and it was a great opportunity to see some new kit and hear different opinions on fieldsports and deer management.

I was up yesterday - grand day out.
Had a duck for shade at the beer tent and overheard some interesting chat-
"I'm here from northern Ireland "
"What brought you over?"
I like fishing...."

"What brought you over?"
"I just like the fashion....but I'm from Edinburgh "

Should buy one at some point.....


Would like to have seen more rifles/shotguns being showcased with mores shops being present.

I think the only notable exception in shops compared to recent years was Edinburgh Rifles?

But aye, would have been nice to see more... And more with stock on the more modest end of the spectrum Mind looking through one of them (the Welsh one I seem to remember?) and felt like they must have had less than a dozen shotguns available for under £1k.

It's a shame they weren't present, as it was good to compare like for like on the day
