Lead ammunition restrictions - government announcement

So coming from that shower of **** they mean the complete opposite!
At the very least, it appears as if they have looked at the idea. Can you imagine having to collect a rifle/shotgun from a "Secure" facility every time you wanted to take Jess on a squirrel hunt :scared:

Someone else on this thread described all this as "A Death by a Thousand Cuts" I thought it chimes perfectly with what I have witnessed in my 50 years of shooting... Heck, my headmaster at school happily countersigned my first application for a shotgun certificate, Mr Voller. Can you imagine a lad going into school and asking for such a thing today? 99% of them would end up being psychologically assessed.

I didn't want to comment on this thread... but this made me chuckle... the only thing I can take from this is that we will all die of something... and we will all come into contact with lead.... Jesus, I even purchased a bottle of mercury from a school pal for .50p, that was 45 years ago, and I'm still alive... just.... (I have no idea where the mercury ended up)

I listened to LBC radio today with 'Alf an ear.. Some labour person has denied that they are looking to restrict privately owned firearms from being kept at the owner's home....

Have a good weekend, everyone xx
What a stupid nasty and spiteful post.

Yes we all die of something, and we all wish for a quiet peaceful death. But dying from many of the conditions that we know that lead has a helping hand in brings about will give you anything but. You will die a slow lingering, paralysis, acute pain as all your organs shut down one by one, with have complete loss of control of all bodily functions so you lie in a pile of **** and **** and bleed from every orifice is not a nice way to go. Hopefully you will complete dementia so you don’t know what is going on, but you probably will not.

I remember BASC being supportive of all the marches from that era. There was a badge for the 1998 one as per image below. Not sure who made that one but I remember a BASC badge back in the day that said "I shoot, hunt and vote"
Initially members were not encouraged to attend, perhaps it was a John Swift suggestion, however I'll accept your evidence, thank you

Totally agree,
Same here I’ve had my SGC for over 50 years and my FAC for over 40,
The changes have been relentless and every single change has been restricting ,
As I said one more cut in a death of a thousand, one of my favourite rifles ever was a IMI Timberwolf pump 357mag,
Epic fun on turning targets and PP1 etc,
That went along with my SLR,
Blah blah,
Cut after cut and eventually it dies,
I suppose I could say I’ve been fortunate enough to participate in self loading full bores,
All manner of pistols and wheel guns etc
I’m 69 in September and my tickets run till 28
Will I renew??
Probably simply because buy being a FAC/SGC holder im a pita to those who would see us extinct

i use 68 gr bullets in my 243 for fox, which i believe is being banned, but i can use a 68 gr bullet in my 22.250 223rem to do the same job on fox it doesnt make sense, so my 243 is redundant any compensation for it and reloading gear, this country is a p*ss take bsBossyLightheartedIndianhare-small.gif

I know many that have come and gone peacefully, and some of them ate lead shot game and shot all their lives.

We are all acutely aware we will die and we are all under the umbrella of fear.
Fear tends to turn to wrath by the way. Especially over things we can not change.
Your beliefs about lead, facts or otherwise, and it absolution will not relieve you of a; death and illness and b; remove fear.

For every step forward man makes there are 12 to be taken backwards and every thing he does is futile because on the day of his death his thoughts leave him.

Stuff it. Let's just go snaring in the middle of the night or dragging carcasses off the central reservation of East Anglia's motorways. They'll probably ban that because of the potential for contamination by rubber particulates.
Dam I’d not go near those deer there full of nasty stuff from those brake pads from EV.
;)
